Pyramid keychain

My son lost his beloved pyramid keychain in Mic Mac park earlier today. If anyone comes across it, it would mean so much to us to have it returned!

Ignorance at East End Walmart

To the "grown woman", who also had a young child with her:

Absolute shame on you! It was one thing raising your voice, making your inpatience clear in line by making comments about the cashier taking too long to clean her register - but to go as far as to verbally assault her on your way out, is a totally different story. Let's also take into consideration laughing and mocking this girl with your growing daughter, teaching her bullying is acceptable. I hope you know your ignorance & racism was seen, not just by us, but by management as well. If you were in such a rush, you should have purchased your groceries & left. Not proceeded to make that cashier feel like garbage for doing what she could, the best she could. If you want others to "mind their own businesses", perhaps think twice about making someone feel terrible at their place of work around other customers & management.

Absolutely disgusted.

Good people do exist

My ex lost his keys somewhere in his travels this past Saturday. There were alot of keys on it and one happened to be my house key with my address on it.🤦‍♀️ Well Tues afternoon my daughter came home from work and his set of keys were sitting on the table on our porch. To the person that found them and returned them thank you so much!! You have been spotted!! That was very kind, considerate and thoughtful of you. Wish i would have been home to thank you personally. There are many good people in our city!!

CAFE OLE -- TERIBBLE EXPERIENCE, RUDE OWNER.

I never thought I would write this about a local business but this one deserves it and I know i am not alone.

I went to CAFE OLE at the South Windsor Medical Center and received the rudest, most unprofessional treatment I have ever received in ANY business. Honestly, they lack basic MANNERS; both the owner and staff (or his son perhaps).

Mind that this is the SECOND time I received this treatment from them. But what happened today was just UNNECESSARY and could have caused way more damage then intended.

I took my dad to the lab for blood work, and he suddenly started feeling dizzy so i ran to their convenience store (its not a cafe tbh) to buy 'orange juice'. My dad is still recovering from a serious heart attack and has heart failure so this is more critical then just.. dizziness. Anyway, the owner stopped me and was SO RUDE. He told me that i can either sanitize my hands or tell the staff what i want--which i didnt mind ofc, obviously i am okay with either of those.

Anyhow, I was a bit taken back with that treatment. I just wanted to get what i needed so i said 'I just need orange juice' and didnt get into the store fully.Instead of just getting me what i needed, he CONTINUED the rude treatment saying all kinds of stuff that were unnecessary and I didnt have time to listen. So i said 'Listen i dont appreciate the attitude ---" and he cut me off and said "GET OUT OF THE STORE THEN" .... bruh what now?

So i tried to tell them that my dad needs any snack and isnt well, and neither him NOR his staff listened. They just asked me to leave? Like are you guys serious?

The pharmacy next door saw me rushing around and called me in so i told them what happened, so they gave me some chocolates for my dad. They also told me that they ALWAYS get complaints about this CAFE OLE. Hence they sell basic snacks and all that themselves now (no comment)

I honestly wanted to look up this place because for a bit i thought it was my fault? Even though I didnt create a scene and was ok with following all the rules he set up for his own business. But then i saw tons of NEGATIVE comments about the same guy. This guy is viral for being rude and unprofessional. There are legit SO MANY bad reviews about him having no manners.

There is also lengthy review of him being so rude and vulgar to a 3 year of CHILD. I cant believe how he can stay in business and people can still shop from him.

I also looked them on Facebook and they deactivated their account, probably because all these negative reviews were FROM Facebook. I found the reviews on 3rd party websites.

So please do me a favor and don't shop from there.

Zehrs on Lauzon: Quick Thinking Health Care Aide

I was shopping at Zehrs yesterday on Saturday August 14th picking up a handful of items my grandmother needed, as she has difficulty shopping due to COPD. While waiting in line to pay and seeing +6 customers walk by I noticed an elderly woman seated on a set of blue stairs who appeared to have difficulty breathing. Following a handful of questions I ran to get her a bottle of cold water and grab the pharmacy team members to help assess the situation. I really wanted to call out another customer - named Mary - who luckily turned out to be a nurse aide and was really able to immediately take over the situation. She assessed the elderly woman's vitals which were erratic and quickly summarized her reasoning for this woman's medical issues. Because of Mary's calm assessment of the situation I was able to provide the 911 operator with very clear and concise information. Mary also quickly instructed the pharmacy team to grab a baby aspirin and then ensured the elderly woman chewed it prior to swallowing to ensure rapid ingestion. I also wanted to call out the customer - which I was not able to get his name - who immediately volunteered to run outside and direct the ambulance to where we were (he ran like a bat out of hell to be honest lol). Lastly, although it was not necessary it was a very kind gesture of the Zehrs manager to not charge me for the groceries, which made me cry because they were for my grandmother so the gesture was immediately paid forward!!! My grandmother was touched and expressed her gratitude as well.

What a great moment for me to experience in this city, seeing strangers come together when one of our community members is in need!!! My heart is happy today as such.
