Can someone with a plow clean the alley between Moy and Lincoln, towards Tecumseh road, near the train tracks? The city refuses to do it, claiming it is the responsibility of the residents, and the resisdents are morons that shovel and snowblow the snow from their parking lots and driveways back into the alley. There's no way I'll be able to leave for days. Off Shepherd!

I'm wondering if anyone has information about service dog training, and if it would ever require a dog being left outside in a caged area for days on end in this cold? There is a house in South Windsor with a fenced-in area in their front yard and a large black dog in it. He has a dog house but he's never in it, always laying by the gate to be let out or pacing around. During the "polar vortex" when it was 40 below, he was left outside. The owners recently put a sign up on the cage saying "Service dog in training, do not pet, under video surveillance". Just wondering if this could actually be true or if these people just don't want anyone bothering them about being cruel. It breaks my heart every time I go by and see him standing by the gate.

PS - I have contacted the humane society and not heard back from them.

SHAME ON YOU ST. CLAIR COLLEGE.
I begged my son not to drive to school in this madness this morning, to which he argued that he had a test and today was very important for attendance. That combined with the fact that he is responsible for getting others in the car pool to school, he was committed.
The teachers advised: 'check the site in the morning to make sure classes are not cancelled'.
So that he did. Since they were not in fact cancelled at the time in which most needed to venture out in this DEADLY weather, they set out for class.
Not until they were at the college, I they realize the instructor was 'late'. Ok, understandable. But then, notice was posted for his 2:00 class to standby as they would make a decision later if the class (and the test) was still on. Luckily my son can read the weather forecast better then the college officials and decided to come home.
On his way home, he received notice that the college was closed.

Get your sh*t together!! You want kids to be committed, then be committed to providing decent communication to those who are paying your wages.

Just a heads up:

Today I was contacted by yet another totally confused person (multiple have done so in the last year) claiming that I called their personal cell number, yet I had never heard of them/ seen their number in my life, and had no record of doing so. Being concerned that my personal information/ identity was compromised, I called my provider and they explained that, according to my account information within their server, there was no evidence to suggest this outgoing call--or any others like it--ever happened. I then reached out to my Facebook friends and learned of an app available for smartphones which allows a user to make outgoing calls in such a manner that they can call using any number they select (other than their own) to appear on the recipient's caller ID (simply put, number "hijacking"). Why this is even allowed or possible, blows my mind. The individual who called me today was too afraid to answer the call I supposedly made to them, so I have no information on the motive behind this--for lack of better words--"prank". If this happens or has happened to you or somebody you know, my advice would be to answer the phone and see what is going on. For those dealing with accusations of these calls, contact your provider as soon as possible and ensure your identity is safe and your personal information is secure. This is an invasion of privacy and should not be tolerated.

I complained to this store LAST WINTER that this was broken. Apparantly this place doesn't care if customers need their windows cleaned. All their cleaning stations are either broken or empty. This gas station is @ the corner of Seminole & pillette. They should be ashamed. M*** M*ilk, you have been spotted

Spotted on Wyandotte: A surprize charge (that I was not informed of) appeared on my bill. It was $2.50 for 'splitting' the order into separate containers. When I asked why, the Employee said, "You called me. That's what it is." I mentioned that this had never been charged to us before in previous visits. When I asked what it paid for he told me it was for the container. When I told him a second container doesn't cost $2.50 he told me it was because he more sauce for the same number of wings. When I told him I could have ordered two separate orders and not one large one, that the same amount of sauce is used whether it's two orders or one big order he told me, "If you don't like it. Don't call here. Go somewhere else." Surprised by his manners I then asked, "Are you willing to lose a regular and local customer for $2.50?" His reply was "Bye."
I was shocked at his willingness to offend the customer in an economic climate such as ours! I've since found a local location that will be: honest about the bill upfront and knows how to speak politely to customers.
