Lost in Southwood Lakes

To the young guy who helped me get out of the detour mess I got myself into in Southwood Lakes. Thank you for being so kind.
I am not familiar with the all the new construction going on in Windsor so after leaving the hospital last Tuesday after my mom had surgery I was attempting to get onto highway 3 to get back home. I took a detour into Southwood Lakes, and for anyone who knows this subdivision, it is very beautiful for looking at gorgeous homes and parks but it is also very good for an unfamiliar individual like myself to get lost in. I had to be at an appointment so when I realized I was going in circles and going nowhere fast I just stopped at the side of the road and waited for this dark blue Dodge Ram to pass me at which time I would flag the person down and ask for directions. Well he did pull up and stop and as he began to attempt to tell me where to go he realized over his diesel engine and well being in twisty turny Southwood Lakes it was going to be difficult to get me to where I was going and not lost and asking for directions again.
This young man went out of his way to say follow me I will get you to highway 3! I have been lost and have asked for directions numerous times, and after getting directions I have ended up lost and asking for directions again. Never once has someone offered to go ahead and wait for me to follow them. I hope you read this and I hope you know I appreciated your act of kindness. I will pay it forward when given my opportunity.

Two spottings

I wanted to acknowledge two people today that went out of their way to help me out. First was the real estate agent at Royal LePage Binder in Tecumseh, I had gone into the office to ask for a phone book to call Tecumseh Transit, as I had missed my bus due to me being at the wrong stop. She came out of her office as I was leaving, and handed me a copy of the schedule and map that she had printed for me, and pointed out the bus stops on the map. I didn't get her name, but she made my day just by doing that for me.

Secondly, I made it over to Zehrs to catch the bus, and only had my Transit Windsor bus pass with me (hubby told me that I would get on free with the pass - he was wrong) I had no change on me, but the gentleman waiting for the bus as well paid my fare for me so I wouldn't have to wait an hour for the next one.

It's always nice to hear

I am a divorced father of 2 and I was with them on Canada Day during the Parade in Windsor. I had one of my kids on my shoulders and the older one (8) was walking next to me. She asked if she could switch and go onto my shoulders but I couldn't do that because my youngest was way shorter. I gave her a kiss and she understood and just held my hand. This lady standing next to us (probably in your late 20's)overheard our conversation and asked if I wanted her to take my youngest so I can hold up my older Child. I said it's ok I didn't want to bother her, and she insisted. She took her and we watched the parade, she was there with her mother and father. After the parade my daughter came back to me and she said thank you to the lady. I thanked her and she turned and said You are welcome. She then said "I have to say, it was nice meeting you and your kids. You seem like a very caring father. Your daughters are very lucky.

I have to say that I felt amazing after hearing that. I know my kids love me but for a person from the outside looking in notices that and says something....well that's golden.

Thank you for making my day/ week

TEXTING while DRIVING in your Dark Grey Chevy Compact (possibly sonic)

On E.C. row at 11:20 You, young lady were driving East Bound and going over the speed limit and NOT paying attention to anything but your cell phone. How dare you risk the lives of people around you to post garbage on Facebook. I honked at you and you looked up knowing you were caught and you quickly dropped your phone and exited on Walker Road. TOO LATE I have taken your license plate and reported you, I hope that is your parents car and they realize that they are loaning you a very heavy weapon. This photo will be you or someone trying to avoid your careless behaviour. Wake up and Wait until you are at your destination, nothing is THAT important. a Mom.
