Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
For anyone and everyone who knows what the Christmas Season is like in retail it can be a very hectic time for those to get their shopping done. Especially those of us who work Retail. We'll I am one of those individuals. So tonight I was in a panic needing to get photos printed in time for Christmas gifts. And with working everyday and only having 2 days off until the New Year , I had no time to get photos printed for gifts. I ended up rushing to the Super Store on Walker Road and was greeted right away by a man named Jack who asked if he could be of some assistance. I explained my dilemma about my photos and without a second thought be proceed straight to the self serve machines and turned one on for me. He kindly waited for the machines to load and helped me choose all the prints I needed for my Christmas gifts for my family. Jack your customer service was outstanding and for that I am forever grateful. Thank you so very much. Have a very Meer Christmas. I know I will because of your assistance with my gifts for my family. You have been spotted. Jack @ Super Store Walker Road, Windsor, Ontario
My dad and mom took me out for dinner tonight and told me this story of my dads co-worker, it warmed my heart and I just had to share it.
My father works with a young man named Lovedeep, and the two have become great friends. He is a very kind, caring person.
Over the weekend, he was bored cruising kijiji just looking around. He found an ad of a woman needing help with toys for her youngest girl. It explained that the other children had toys but the youngest didn't.
Lovedeep saw this, contacted the family, and went right out to toys R us to buy this little girl Christmas presents so she would have something to open on Christmas day. He said to my dad, "I was the only man in the Dolly aisle".
I couldn't believe how kind and caring this is. This isn't even a holiday that Lovedeep celebrates, he just did it to be kind.
Remember to give back when you can. Happy Holidays! :)
Had an awful day at work the other night where I got blasted out by a woman who got a poorly made drink from the bar, but otherwise had great service from myself for the entire six hours she was at my place of work. She embarrassed me in front of about twenty people, swearing at me telling me I was "the worst effing server she had ever seen" and that she "wasn't joking" and I need to quit right away because I'm awful at what I do. That I should "go home and re-evalutate my life." She also told me I wasn't good looking enough to be a server and that my looks aren't going to redeem my poor service. I literally was having fun with them all night, laughing with them about their ugly Christmas sweaters, and they even praised the martinis and food they received. Whatever her intentions were, she ruined an otherwise good night at work and didn't tip me off a $400 bill because of one watery drink she got from the bar that I didn't even make. Regardless, the embarrassment from what had just happened made me cry, especially the personal insults and the fact that nobody stood up for me.
Now for the good part! A table of three next to them called me over a few minutes later to give me a hug and words of encouragement, which was greatly appreciated. We had a little chat about not taking it personally because she was wasted (I don't take it personally, but it was embarrassing regardless), and they told me I was a good person and not to listen to her. That was more than enough, for them to go out of their way to make me feel better, but they went above and beyond and ended up giving me $60 for what had just happened. I am extremely appreciative of this random act of kindness by people who had nothing to do with the bad situation that had just happened, who had NO obligation to do anything for me, yet did it anyway. I was a complete stranger to them. I didn't even serve their table.
I will definitely have to pay it forward. After seeing how nasty people can be, this showed me that people can still be so kind for nothing in return.
I would like to thanks all the co-workers at From our hands to your's for caring so much for a family that was in need but was afraid to ask for any help around this time or year.
Thanks to your wonderful people this family of 3 . 1 young boy. 1 young girl and a father will now be able to enjoy a Christmas dinner and some wonderful gifts under the tree.
God bless you.
I would really like to thank Chelsey Carr for taking this family under her wing.
GOD BLESS
MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM THE KANE FAMILY
During the recent violent exchange at the Ambassador Bridge, the proper use of force was both life-saving and efficient problem solving. The Border Officers weren't interested in killing the person, but to just neutralize the threat presented to them. Unlike many instances where there was a "kill shot" to eliminate the problem, which I feel in unwarranted. Police should be trained to shoot them in the leg to get their attention first. This Officer shot the assailant in the arm, keeping him alive. That is very difficult to do when your life may be in danger, but that's why you are paid well. The important decision a factory worker or other profession would never be expected to make. Too much gun violence. Sad.
To the idiot who hit my van at the Chapters at Devonshire today and didn't leave a note. I am 9 months pregnant and couldn't find a single free mother-baby parking space. I was going in to Chapters to buy a book to explain to my 2-year-old why our cat will be dead by Christmas day. To come out and see that you'd scratched the side of my van and not even left a note put me into tears. What a disrespectful, selfish and ignorant thing to do.
