Helpful tellers made a bad day easier

After realizing my purse (with all 3 of my kids health cards, my drivers license, debit card) was missing out of my car I panicked. As if it wasn't bad enough it was gone, I was pretty sure my roommate stole it. Even my 11 year old (who I had to bring tot he clinic but had no health card for! ugh) realizes it's silly that we don't feel safe in our own home....Anyway, in a frenzy I gathered everything I had left (b.c's, proof of address) and I ran to Service Ontario (east end), where the nicest lady with the initials L.M got me all the paper work I needed and made sure I left with everything I needed. I then had to run to BMO on Lauzon where another amazing lady helped me sort everything out. After I thanked both of these ladies for making a stressful situation that much easier they both said to me "I am glad I could help but who is going to help you deal with that roommate?". I appreciated both of their concerns. And more than anything I appreciated their warm smiles and awesome help. Like I said, made something so super stressful that much easier. THANK YOU ladies!

Concert Ticket Fraud on Kijiji Windsor

Beware of ads on Kijiji Windsor selling tickets to concerts and shows at Ceasars Windsor. The individual of a certain ad claims to get the tickets through her Total Rewards account at Ceasars and does not get the actual tickets until the day of the show. She asked for a 50% deposit on the tickets, gives a print out of her Total Rewards page showing the tickets as reserved and states she will make arrangements to meet you the day of the show to finalize the transaction.

Unfortunately, I, along with many others have fallen victim to this fraud. After giving the 50% deposit for the tickets, the individual does not respond back to any calls, emails and texts that are sent to schedule a time to get the tickets.

Windsor Police are aware of this and the two individuals involved do have a record for many things including fraud. Up to now the two individuals do use their real names when responding from their email and texting.

I stood up for myself and it was the best feeling ever

I am 38 year old single mother of 2 and my whole life I feel like I am taken advantage of or bullied. I am a quiet woman and try to mind my own business as much as I can. I was driving through the Costco parking lot yesterday trying to find a spot. This lady walking to her car waved at me and said she was 3 cars from the end to follow her, so I did. As I waited for her to load her vehicle I smiled as she looked back with my signal on. I looked around and there was no other car waiting. She pulled out and passed me waving goodbye and I waved back. As she passed me I looked ahead to pull up into the spot I had been waiting for when a car came into the spot from the other side quickly and pulled in. I was frustrated to say the least but figured maybe they didn't notice me parked there waiting for the spot and maybe thought I was just driving through. Any other day I would have continued driving around and not said a word, but today was different. My son (15) was with me and I didn't want him to feel he shouldn't stand up for yourself. So I pulled up and calmly stated to the young man that I was waiting for that spot every since the previous person walked to the vehicle. He looked at me and quickly said he was sorry and he would gladly move. I was shocked but I thanked him, he quickly got into his truck and moved. We parked and headed into Costco, this is where it got interesting. We walked around and did some shopping and went to cash out. As we were walking out my son had noticed the same young man standing next to where my jeep was parked. This man looked to be maybe 26 I wasn't scared just nervous. As we walked up he looked at me and said I am only doing this to make sure you realize it was truly a mistake when I parked in your spot. He handed me a 2 pack of Cineplex tickets he had purchased from Costco for me and my son. I said he really didn't need to as I was just glad you were so willing to move right after without making a bid deal. He looked at my son and said "your mom is a tough lady, will you take these for you and her." my son laughed and said yes I will thank you. Such a amazing young man where an incident like this sometimes turns ugly, this one ended beautifully. So that man I say Thank you for letting me stand my ground and helping me teach my son to stand up for himself, even though I usually do not.

Worst driver award goes to....

Today I left my Belle River home and followed the worst driver ever! He was driving a black Ford F-150, trying to pass people in Belle River where there is no room to pass so he had two wheels on the sidewalks, he was following dangerous close, going atlest 70km/ h in a 50 zone and swerving from side to side like if he was texting.

Come on!

Hit & Run

We need the public's assistance please. On Tuesday April 7 2015 at approximately 6:15 pm, we were involved in a hit and run accident at the intersection of Howard and Tecumseh. We were driving a black 2012 Chrysler 300. The other driver was in a possible older model BMW. Navy blue in color. He attempted to exit the Tim Horton's parking lot and crossed over three lanes of traffic to enter onto Howard North. His vision was obscured by a large white van. He ended up in the left turning lane causing us to strike him in the left rear quarter panel. We suspect damage to be substantial after evaluation of our own damage. The driver then entered Shopper's Drug Mart. Exited his car to look at personal damage and then left the scene. Minor physical injuries have occurred to us as well as major car repairs. We would like to hold this person accountable. He would be in his mid 20s, clean shaven, with short dark hair. Slim in build, approximately 6' to 6'3. If anyone has any information regarding the accident or the person responsible please reply or contact Windsor Police Services. Thank you.

Great Job on behalf of Parents and grandparents!

To the manager and staff of Lakeshore Cinema. Wanted to say it was a great gesture to have the offer of $3.00 movies during the March break. Its so hard for many families to be able to afford a movie outing these days. With the admission price and then the food it adds up very quickly. Of course to the grandparents on a fixed income it was great. So just want to say a big thanks to you all on behalf of us happy kids who all got to go with our parents and grandparents! A high five to you! Thanks Marlene
