Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
Our house was flooded on August 29 as were countless others in the city. Among many other things, our loss included our furnace and hot water tank. The day after the flood I phoned Syles Mechanical to inspect our furnace for insurance purposes. I of course did not expect to see anyone for at least a few days to a week, assuming most of the city was in the safe predicament. They sent someone out the next day at 830 in the morning. Scott was professional and polite and as expected told me that our furnace was a fire hazard a couldn't be used. Again, I did not expect this was going to be a quick fix and again I was wrong. That same day Grant Higginbottom sent a team out to my house and replaced my furnace. I happened to mention to him that I was having trouble getting my hot water tank provider to come out so he replaced that too! Grant, you and your team should be recognized for going above and beyond in making our lives much easier and less stressful during a very stressful time! Thank you!
I was in the Timmie's driver through on Ouellette by Tepperman's and I want the thank the person in the BLACK FLEX for buying my coffee this morning Thurs Sept 14 @ 5:30 am, I paid it forward by paying for the car behind me.
I want to say thank you to the gentleman who witnessed my parents car accident Tuesday, September 12 @ approx. 1:30pm. Thank you for pulling over and giving your statement to the police. It was very much appreciated. Thank you Also to the staff of 7-11 Who came out to make sure they were ok. Words can't express! To the EMT's, doctors and nurses of hotel Dieu, I know you were 'just doing your job' but your kindness and patience will not be forgotten. And lastly to the Constable who spoke to my parents and myself at the hospital, thank you for helping them and giving us all the information we needed. You were very kind and I appreciate it more than I can say. God Bless!
To the two guys knocking on doors saying we are under a boil water advisory on the west end of Windsor and trying to force their way into houses. Police were called and of course we were told that we were not. STOP TRYING TO SCAM PEOPLE BY SCARING THEM!!
Just a reminder to remember to lock your car doors every night. My significant others car was broken into last night and many things were taken, including his wallet (yes, I know not to keep it in there so save it). Always remember to double check since ignorant thieves never take a break.
I just want to say thank you to the city workers for all your hard work in the cleanup of garbage at the sides of the road from the flooding GREAT JOB!
Thank you to the fellow jeeper that was in front of me at timmies on Tecumseh/ lauzon that paid for my order September 12th. I've had such a bad day and something as simple as that put a huge smile on my face:)
It's the little things!!
So my morning started off not so good to say the least... woke up feeling sick, went to my first appointment and broke my nail, dropped my daughter's script and had to chase it around the parking lot. Then my morning had a silver lining. Was feeling stressed and needed a caffeine pick me up so figured I would stop and grab Tim Hortons at the chandler location.
To my surprise when I went to pay for my stuff the lady told me the gentleman in the gold intrepid ahead of me had paid for my order. So I figured I would pay it forward as well and put the cost of my order towards the next persons order. I guess there were a lot of people paying it forward that day. The cashier told me the lady who started the paying it forward today had just lost her daughter to ovarian cancer and it was her daughters wish to pay it forward when she could.
It took everything in me not to become a blubbering idiot in the taxi when she said it. My heart goes out to that woman and hope she knows she helped turn at least one person's day around by her kind act.
