Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
Spotted : Thankyou so very much to the neighbour who went down the block of Watson ave as well as two elderly peoples driveways with your snowblower to help out. It is so appreciated I had stayed at my grandmothers for two days to help her shovel snow and I was on my way to work when you started the snow blowing so you saved my grandma a big job!!! Thankyou:)
Sincerely a thankful granddaughter
Snow looking like rolling clouds in the fields near our place in Lakeshore. With the sun ring so bright it makes it that much more stunning.
Spotted in Windsor was this bird with no where to stand but waist deep in the snow. ( Tufted titmouse)

Spotted : I want to thank my wonderful neighbours Steve and Michelle. My husband and I are both seniors and they constantly help make out lives easier. Not only does Steve shovel our driveway he also showed up with two portable heaters on Saturday when our furnace died. I also want to thank reliance for their prompt service and especially Ray. All of you have been spotted by two very grateful old folks.
Winter has definitely come...
An extreme cold weather alert has been issued by the local health unit for Windsor and Essex County, where air temperatures are predicted to hit -40C Monday night and -42C Tuesday.
With this current extreme cold weather trend, area residents are urged to protect themselves, said medical officer of health Dr. Allen Heimann in a statement. The recommendation is that the public stay indoors and if they need to go outside, to ensure that they cover any exposed skin.
Police warned motorists to drive with caution. Roads were treacherous in parts of Essex County and one snow-covered car careered into a ditch near Manning Road and County Road 42.
The city of Windsor urged residents to take cars off the streets and park them in their driveways.

While stuck on walker side road, a lady spotted to help me. I told her it was ok that I would get out. I didn't want her to freeze while helping me. Then a guy stopped to offer me a ride home and attempted to get my car unstuck. Thank you to both of you for stopping to help. I did get out only to get stuck again. Then I really got lucky. A farmer came with a tractor and lifted the back of my car, pushing me out of the snow drift! Thank you to all the wonderful people who offered help today!
