Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
Kudos to the man who got out of his car on Howard by the mall, to help an elderly lady make it off of the main road, over a snow bank that she fell into and onto the sidewalk where she could walk. This was around 8 am this morning. WE all need to be a lot more like this man. Cheers to him!
Arrogant Windsorite Shopper
I was at Nine West Shoe Studio this afternoon and I had an extremely bad experience. Not with the staff, but with another customer in front of me. I was so disgusted in this Windsorite that I am almost embarrassed to share this story, but I think that it is an important story to share about kindness and ethics. This woman was doing a return in front of me and the employees working, who were two bright young women, were kindly explaining their company's return policy. Well obviously this did not satisfy this woman. I almost regret not saying anything to her at the time, but as a bystander I didn't know how to react because I've never witness anything like this. This woman proceeded to tell the employees how shit they were at their job and that their personalities were so awful they should not be in retail. She then went on about how she was going to call head office and have smarter people deal with this situation. The employees explained that they were simply following a policy and it was really nothing to do with their personalities. To top it all off, the woman brags about how she know "so many people" in this city and that they shouldn't think they are "too safe" here and that she was going to bad mouth to everyone about them. So she basically threatened them. She left the store screaming how it was bullshit she couldn't return her pair of boots. I'll also inform that they did offer an exchange or credit to their store which is their policy. I just can't believe people have the guts to be so rude to strangers when they don't have things go their way. You have to remember in retail, these people are just working for bigger corporations and never ever deserve any put downs from bullies in our communities. Be kind to people who are working to help your life be better in any way, even if it's just by buying a pair of shoes.

Tonight I parked at n a bad spot on a side street. Turns out there was a huge sheet of ice, lucky for me two guys from another apartment building came over and gave me a push.( didn't get there names) I was so stressed out. You made my night. Now I can get to work in the am. Thank you:)
When I got stuck in my driveway yesterday, not one, two, three, but 4 of our neighbors (whom we barely see or talk to) came outside in the -24 degree weather to help me get unstuck. turns out the rails and framework of my small car were stuck on icy snow and not only did they push, lift, and pull my car all different ways to get unstuck, they lent struts of carpet, kitty litter, salt, etc.. All in efforts to help me get out of the driveway. Thank you Dave, Lisa, Brad, and I think the other man's name was Brett.... you all have been spotted and I will think of you all when I pay it forward !!
Thank you VERY much to the person who found my keys in the parking lot of the medical centre on Tecumseh Rd E and returned them the the IDA Pharmacy. I am very grateful!
A big thank you to all of the people in the past two days including city of windsor workers, who stopped what they were doing to help us get our little car unstuck and out of snow banks. We were just on our way today to get our snow tires put on and we slid into another snow bank, we were shovelled and pushed back out onto the road, and we have our new tires on now!
It's amazing the number of caring people in windsor that come to the rescue when they see people in need.
Your kind actions and help have not gone unnoticed, and we have definitely been paying it forward helping others get out of these crazy snow piles as well.
