Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
Thank you to the man that helped me get my plates off at the Service Ontario in Belle River. The bolts were rusted and my screwdriver wasn't doing the trick. It was freezing outside and I was ready to give up! Luckily you were willing to help and had a tool box handy.
It may not seem like much. But I had two toddlers waiting for me inside. If it wasn't for you, I would have had to pack my kids up and go back home. Only to come back another time.
Also, the service was great! Thank you to the teller that was extra helpful.
Happy New a Year!
Whomever took the time to open our back gate, come INTO our yard to steal not one but TWO bikes...shame on you!! Then you left your piece of crap bike in place of two very good bikes. Let's just add insult to injury why don't we?
You lowlife piece of scum! We work hard for the things we have. You stole bikes from teenage girls!! One is a green ten speed with racing handlebars. The other is a black racing mountain bike. You had to case our backyard , you had to walk into MY yard in order to even SEE the bikes. They were not left laying around. Your footprints are in the snow !
Were you coming back to our home for the beer you saw on the deck cooling in the snow? You didn't get that did you? No because my husband brought the beer into the house. So you took my daughters bikes instead. We work hard for the things we provide our kids. We don't work so you, a THIEF , can waltz into our private property and STEAL what you didn't work for! I hope you crash on those bikes and hurt yourself. It might teach you a lesson.
At the old Grace site on Crawford. The walk had been plowed, but drifting snow had filled it back in. And of course I got really stuck in my wheelchair. A lady came along & offered help. She went across the street, borrowed a shovel to dig me out. A man came along, parked his truck, took over, and bing, bang, boom, they made a path to the road. My chair was taken right out to the road and I was able to get up to Wyandotte, facing the traffic. Their names are Jen & John and they are my Snow Angels ! Thank you both from the bottom of my heart. I'm dropping off a little donation to the Mission in your names .. when the snow goes bye !
Went to the new chucks roadhouse on Tec rd E tonight for dinner and a few minutes after being seated we seen a lady at the table across from us obviously with some issues and having a breakdown who was alone started yelling , swearing and laying across the bench seat yelling profanities and talking to herself. It really did break my heart after several attempts from other waitresses and a manager nobody could get near her without aggravating her making the situation worse, this waitress named Meg went to her and was absolutely incredible with her she was able to sit and carry on a conversation with her and calmed the woman down it was just incredible to see how she interacted with this woman until help could arrive for her. Your compassion and patience was incredible to watch. Meg you have been spotted
A white Grand Cherokee driving down #3, turning right on arner town line swerving all over and 20km under the speed limit. In case the police havent already responded i'd like this drunk to realize how stupid he or she is. By the way it was 9:00 so even though its new years maybe alcoholism is the issue.
Reminds me of all the people I went to essex high with, driving with beer in their cup holders. Its a shame because they've learned from their parents. Considering many have a lack of ownership of their own problems and respect for other people and the law, this is more than likely a pointless post
Yesterday was a crazy day at Sears, a very nice surprise arrived in the middle of the chaos. It was a young employee from Starbucks she said they know we are going through some difficult times right now and brought us a box of their prepared coffee with all the fixings and some assorted warm pastries. Starbucks thank you so much, it meant a lot to all of us! You have been spotted
So yesterday my boyfriend proposed to me at the Windsor Festival of Lights at the big Christmas bulb. A very nice couple offered to take our picture and I took some of them before it was our turn. It was so cold outside that I didn't look at the pictures but this woman captured our engagement with some very lovely pictures! So if you're seeing this, I just want to say thank you so much for capturing the moment for us the pictures turned out beautiful and we will definitely be framing a few. THANK YOU again!!
To the 1C Windsor Transit Driver on Thursday, December 28th around 5:15pm in the west end on Dorchester, it was a younger male driver with brown hair, if I seen correctly: it was really, really cold when I was walking, and a Transit Windsor bus turned down the street I was on. I was about to cross the street when it turned so I just stopped in my tracks to let the bus continue by. As the driver got near, he slowed down and was asking me if I needed the bus. I shook my head, with no other movement or thanks because I was so cold. I wasn't even at a bus stop, but close to where one used to be. I just wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I appreciate it soo much that you even thought to slow down for me.
So on a positive note, thank you, thank you, thank you. You're appreciated!
