Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
My wife is a manager at one of the Loblaw stores, she's been working non stop all day long since the strike started,we have very small children and they miss her very much. They don't even get a kiss goodnight at bed time. She's putting in long hours.I was off today and decided to visit my wife with the kids for lunch, hoped to steal a few minutes alone with her and the kids. When I got there the picketers didn't know who I am but were fast to berale me in front of my little children. Both of my kids asked me "why are they mad at you Daddy?" When we were leaving the store they were scared to come out. I did bring this to a store manager's attention and it will be dealt with once you all get back to work. Now think for one second, will there be a need for the workers anymore at these stores after this is all done and settled after you have mistreated all the customers out there. You are still THE FACE of this company and you are there to work with public, share nice smiles and hellos and thank yous. After all this customers will turn back on all of us involved in this company thanks to your professional and dignified behaviour. My wife has worked there for many many years and worked her way up into the management position which is non unionized. That position is a hard working one just as much and if it's not worse than any unionized bcz there's so much expectation and extra time she has to put in without being paid for that time.Today she had 5 minutes to sit down with her children! Five minutes to exchange some hugs and kisses before she was called back to work again on the floor. This unfortunate strike is affecting everyone in a very negative way.Strikers, managers, families and customers. I ended up buying groceries there even it was my initial intention but this company feeds my kids and we're fortunate we have jobs in this unfortunate world we live in right now.
