I just want to take this opportunity to recognize a very special woman.
This past August, my son was born.
This was one of the happiest days of my life. It was also one of the scariest.
My wife had to endure a very intense labour. She was forced to push for hours, and I have never witnessed such strength in person. I felt so utterly helpless, as I could do nothing but hold her hand.
Finally, the doctor was able to pull our baby out. Such joy!
Overwhelmed with emotion, my wife and I cried as she held our first child on her chest. While the staff tended to my wife, I couldn't help but stare at my son. But then I noticed something. His colour seemed a bit off. I called for our nurse. She grabbed his arm. It was limp. She picked him up, and his body was limp.
That's when our nurse sprung into action. I intentionally shielded my wife's view because I didn't want her to see what I was seeing. Our nurse then began to go to work on my son. I saw tubes being shoved down his limp body. That's when I had to turn away. Then I hear them call a code pink over the speaker system. Nurses and doctors start rushing in. One of the happiest moments of my life had just taken a turn for the worse.

Finally, I heard crying. I have never been so happy to hear a baby cry. My son was back!

I just want everyone to know, that the Nurses name at Windsor Regional Hospitals name was Sherri. I truly believe that she was an angel, guarding my son that day. You can go to the movies and pay big bucks to watch a fictional hero, but believe me, they are among us.
Each and every time I look at my son, I'm filled with such love and happiness, and I'm reminded of Sherri.
I hope you received our card and gift card, but nothing can repay you for the gift you have given us!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart! You are amazing at what you do, and an incredible human being! You have been spotted!
