My son is 11, and wanted me to share this story. The start of his school year and previous school years have been rough on him. He used to get bullied all the time and would always come home and act normal. He always talked about his friends and all the games they played and we had no idea what was really going on. One day he came home after the 3rd week of school and went right to his room. After about 30 minutes I realized he wasn’t coming down so I went up after him to see what was the matter. He explained the story and I became furious (He doesn’t want me to share the details on here). We went to the school and they talked to all the kids involved and their parents. They apologized, but I still didn’t believe they were sincere. He asked me to not make it any bigger of a deal. We let it go and he went back to school but avoided his old group of so called friends.
Spotted : Today, today these three young men knocked on our door. I opened the door and recognized who they were, and wasn’t about to let them in. They stood there with a bag in their hand. I asked what can I do for you, and they asked to talk to my son. They said they had something for him and would like to give it to him. I called him down but kept a watchful eye on them and what they said. “we are sorry, really really sorry. We know what we did was wrong and we feel horrible about it. We all pitched in with our own money to buy you this because we know you didn’t have one. My son walked up to me and asked if he can open it, I nodded and said yes. 2 of the 3 boys had tears in their eyes as my son started to open the gift. iPad, they all pitched in and got my son an iPad for Christmas. One of the boys said to him as my son stood there in shock “ because of you we learned a really important lesson, and I know we can’t buy gifts and expect you to forgive us. We just hope that one day you can”…This was an 11 year old boy… My son thanked them for the gift and said , “yes maybe we can hang out, I miss you guys” I was touched, and something came over me. As angry as I was, I couldn’t believe what had just happened. People make mistakes, that’s the world we live in. But if these 11 year old boys can go 2 months and still be thinking about how much they hurt my son, and do all this to try and make it better. That makes me happy. This is the holiday season, reach out and offer forgiveness to those who have done wrong towards you. I hope this story sheds some light on how important forgiveness is in the world we live in. People can change and will, given the chance.

Signed
A proud mother who has belief in humanity again
