i am beginning this only as" frustrated mama" i am the mother of an adult son i have been caring for him his whole life half of those years by myself the other half with my now husband and his step father . he is fast approaching 30 years old he has cerebral palsy he cant walk hes in adult diapers he suffers seizures .recently my husband after 40 years of working was forced into early retirment because of health issues that caused his legs to develop an artery disease he was half my help for lifting, bathing giving meds changing diapers and giving me a respite now i do most on my own and care for my ailing mother.we recently applied for a grant to help us get tracking in our bathroom and his bedroom we already have the materials we just need help with installation.then we were told we qualify for an outside ramp and then we get a letter the other day saying 300.00 dollars is all they can do .that doesent even begin to take care of what we need hes basically stuck in his home and my husband tries to lift him in his bed and he weights the same as his dad.i guess what im getting at is why is it so hard to get help for people with special needs especially when you have never asked for anything from anyone before .i just dont know what to think or do im tired of crying and having my son see me like this signed one very confused and frustrated mama
