Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
earlier this morning about 11:30am I was going west on totten when I passed a school yard with what appeared to me to be a class-sized group of kids outside.
a young boy with a green and white hoody was sitting on a bench when another boy with dark curly hair and a gray Tshirt walked up to the kid sitting and took a couple of swipes at him. at first I thought maybe they were goofing off u til gray Tshirt kid pulled the other kids hoody over his head, dragging him off the bench and onto the ground, punching him a few times. he stopped for a second until a second kid joined in and they kicked the kid a few times while he was down before he was able to get back up again.
I was unfortunately not able to stop at that exact moment ( and I know I'm gonna catch heck for this but the situation didnt seem life and death as he got up and seemed fine). when I got up the road, instead of continuing on I turned around and headed back to the school to find an adult (was having a hard time finding a number for the school). in the ten mins or so it took to do this, all the kids were all gone. I called the school to make sure the kid was okay and offer details to what had happened but the lady I spoke with said their kids hadn't yet gone out for lunch yet and it may have been kids from another school nearby. she said she would call around and check into it for me. she was very nice and didn't make me feel half as crazy as I sounded to myself calling about some schoolyard scuffle but it bothered me. before some of u go on a rampage about how I should have called the police or an ambulance for the victim, it seemed more harassment than a real intent to inflict harm. not okay by any means but had i felt the kid was in real danger I would have left the car in the middle of the road and intervened.
so if your kid happens to wear a horizontal green and white striped hoody and came home today a little rougher than he left this morning, I just want u to know that he was not at all at fault. so many times when kids are bullied, parents ask what their kid did to provoke it. he literally was just sitting there. he didn't do anything (that I saw) wrong, possibly ages 11-13? he seemed relatively unharmed but I've been worrying about him all day.
and to the bully apparently having a good time at someone else's expense: one day a kid smaller and quieter than u is gonna pack a bigger punch than u do and I doubt very much ull garner much sympathy.
not that I condone violence lol
