Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
I approached the home depot on Tecumseh Road East in Windsor, requesting that they donate a wheelbarrow as we were doing a wheelbarrow full of booze raffle to raise funds for a coworker that discovered he had leukemia. The beauty of this story is they found a bone marrow match for this coworker and he was about to head to Hamilton to have the bone marrow transplant, and hopefully start a new life being ridden of this terrible disease. This rehabilitation center that he would need to go to following his procedure, would cost $2800 a month, over and beyond the hospital - a service that we do not have any coverage for through insurance. This building provided care and access to the Hamilton hospital, if potentially something were to go wrong and he were to catch something, especially with the risk of having no immunity following this procedure. This was necessary to provide him with a germ free, less risk opportunity of catching something that could delay or inhibiting the success that the bone marrow transplant. Some of the risk could then be removed, and a greater sense of hope and a second chance at life for this kind hearted man seemed to be coming into focus clearer. The Home Depot obliged, as well as over 40 coworkers who donated bottles for this raffle as well!! In the end, $7,155 was raised to help this individual, so I just wanted to give a HUGE shout out to all who helped in the success of this event and to encourage people to shop at the Home Depot on the east end of Windsor !!! They truly are supporting those who support them !!!
