You didn't just steal our things. You stole our piece of mind.

I would really appreciate if you would take the time to share in hopes this is read by the individual.

I want to post this message in hopes that the person/ persons who broke into the shed in my backyard sometime in the past couple of days on Tourangeau road sees. The first thought that crossed my mind was sadness. This afternoon while about to spend some family time together we found our back sheds door had been unscrewed and off. Someone had taken the time to remove the screws and it appears they had taken time to carefully go through all of our items. My 7 year old son stood there next to us crying out tears as he noticed more and more of his possessions are no longer here.

The fishing rods that his dad and I saved up for and bought for fathers day a few short months ago are gone. You see, we are not well off. We saved for months to be able to buy these fishing rods and fishing gear so that my son and husband would have a hobby while spending time together. The bounce house my son got for his birthday has been used at family gatherings and when friends visit and holds memories of fun times and laughter. The bikes that you took have taken away our ability to spend time together while going on bike rides. These are only a few of the things you have taken from us. There were many more that we keep coming to realization.

The hardest thing to accept that you have taken is my sense of calm, my piece of mind and my childs innocence as I explain to him that mommy and daddy will do our best to repurchase these items but it will take time.In the last 5 years of living in our home, we have had our car broken into twice and I thought that was hard, this is harder. I found some of my sons baby clothes on the bottom of our shed all dirty as you threw things around in search of items of value. You took some of my sons baby clothes and stuffies I was saving for our next baby. (the sentimental value of those cannot be replaced. I sit here now trying to think of all the things you may have taken that I have not yet realized.

The reality of it is that these items are materialistic things and that's the only lesson I can learn from this. I am currently trying to tell my sobbing 7 year old son that maybe someone needed it more than us. We never had it easy in life. We have had to work for every cent we have ever had. We have had to save for months on end to be able to buy the things you took from us within seconds? minutes? hours? how many trips did it take? How did we not notice while it was happening? I really hope that you needed these items more than we do. That I can come to terms with. But its going to take myself and my family some time to come to terms with the fact that someone went out of there way to take what little we do have while tossing our belongings like they were garbage.

The last time we know the shed was fine was last sunday.

This happened sometime between monday to now. I cant help but to think this has happened within the last 24-48 hours and that maybe you were thinking to come back soon for more. On Thursday September 12th we found a bike on the front of our lawn and are wondering if this may have been when the theft had occurred.

A police report has been filed. I don't expect that we will get anything back. Like I said, I really hope you needed all of these things more than we did. But most importantly I hope that you find it in your heart to change your ways. We have worked our bums off for years to be able to have these things and they were taken in a matter of seconds. I hope that you can learn the value of working hard for the things you want in life. I may have to work extra hard for a while to replace what you took, but I will take pride knowing I worked for them for the second time.

Please get some help and guidance and I hope you feel some remorse for how you left this family feeling today.
