Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
I purchased 2 prepaid Visa cards at store on Huron church. Brought them home to use them for online purchases. The first one being for $200 and the second one being for $100. The $200 worked no problem the second one was rejected. After trying again I contacted visa and was advised to return to place of purchase. Go to find out the packaging had an opening on the bottom and the card that I thought I was purchasing for $100 has been replaced with a dummy card. Days later and still waiting for a resolution. But as of right now I'm out $100. Has anyone ever experienced this kind of fraud and what was the outcome??
To the old man who laid on his horn at walker and ypres behind me as I was in the left turning lane waiting until it was safe to turn, not being able to see past the van turning left from the oncoming traffic I did not want to go until I was sure considering I had a 5 month old baby in my back seat. He then proceeded to ride my tail, pass me and then make a point to stop in traffic roll down his window and yell repeatedly at the top of his lungs "you effing b****, eff you" even once I said back I have a baby in my car he continued with "I don't effing care you're a effing b**** eff you" then speed off and I then watched him tail gate everyone else and weave in an out of traffic. I hope you feel good about yourself and feel like a big tough guy yelling at a young girl in the middle of traffic while stopping traffic around. I bet he wouldn't have done that if I had a guy in my car with me. I dont know whats wrong with people lately but the road rage in windsor is getting out of control.
Spotted this on a friends wall and wanted to share.
In the last 1.5 years, I have been in 5 funeral processions and attended the funerals of those 5 amazing, wonderful and loving people we lost. These are thoughts on the people who choose to be ignorant during a funeral procession...
So for those of you who were angry that a funeral procession made you a few minutes late, here are few suggestions. The next time this happens, try not to think of the fact that you missed one rotation of the lights; think instead about what the people in those cars will miss. Try not to think of being late for your lunch; think about the people who will never again get to meet their loved one for lunch. Try to consider that maybe you could inconvenience yourself for one moment to allow a grieving family to stay together, to show them that you see them and you recognize their loss.
I hope you can do this because one day, you'll be the one driving with your your hazards flashing, needing to follow closely so you don't lose your connection, don't lose your way. And I hope the world will stop for you.
" A funeral procession is not about getting to the cemetery at the same time. A funeral procession is a chain of connection, a visible sign of the invisible bond of grief "

This man in NOT homeless.
He lives in a trailer with his WIFE.
He gets his cheque from the government MONTHLY.
He begs for money almost daily from customers in the Walker Commons parking lot. (Walker Road, Windsor Ontario)
When you offer him food, drinks, gift cards ect he will say NO or take it and leave them on the sidewalk.
When he does get money from goodwilled, hard-working people he takes it to someone who will sell him bottles of beer. After he's had a few he comes back intoxicated and begs for more money. Sometimes very aggressivly!
This man is sick!
This man is an alcoholic!
This make takes advantage of the system and hard working people!
The only people I feel sorry for is these people who dont know who he really is and give him money to enable his alcoholism.
Come on, Caesars!!!! Seriously, you talk about how much your guests mean to the business?? Well, what's the hold up? Treat your staff members with the respect they deserve and pay them accordingly!!! It is because of the excellent staff we continue to enjoy our time at Caesars. Why is it that there are so many that have been there for years making $2 or so more than those who just got bumped to, what is it $14? You should take pride in your staff, they serve you well!!! It is truly disgusting the way you continue to treat your staff members, you should be ashamed of yourselves!!! Oh wait, you don't care, cause you are the one with the upper hand right? You are the ones that put food on their tables, roof over their head, yada yada....UHHHHHM well, in one way yes...BUT if it weren't for the players, the gamblers...you wouldn't exist!!!! We appreciate your staff more than you do obviously!!!! As for your gamblers, WELL, believe me, many of us have noticed how we too have been getting screwed over as well!!! You have made cuts across the board!!! Do you know how much chatting goes on in the ticket lines? Many Diamond (15000+ Tier Credits) members getting half or nothing of the complimentary free stuff, yet, a Gold or Platinum member (anything under the Diamond amount) is getting more than we are???? We get it, you think you feel you have us cause we will come back, you want to lure the lower tier in with free stuff. Soooo, ever been told you should play without your card? You should if you do not intend on staying on a machine for long. I found out your free stuff is based on your play. Play, not based on the money you spend....the amount of time you spend on machines!!! Believe it or not your average(Play) goes down IF you hop around to different machines. You increase your average if you dump all of your money into one machine, but they don't really want to inform you of that!!!! Put less money in, play less machines, end up with a better average...that will get you more free stuff!!!! Soooo, we as the gamblers of Caesars, I think I speak for many, truly do not understand your greed!!!! Reality is, all the free stuff, well, don't we know it....most of us have paid for it!!! We've actually bought it, most likely 10X over the price you pay!!!! Quit being sooooo cheap and dis respectable to your staff members, they are a very big reason many of us gamblers frequent the casino!!!! They are what makes your business thrive!!! You (Caesars) big cheapskates, are what we the gamblers usually complain about, not your staff!!!! You need to quit being so cheap!!! Pretty sure you can't say you didn't make enough money in all these years..hell I'm sure you make enough every single year to justify giving your employees what they deserve!!!! Better pay (retro pay for those that make just over minimum wage, after many years of service), better benefits and truly respect!!! I am glad they are out on strike picketing for what's right!!! Caesars may be losing a lot of money right now...BUT as we know they can afford it....the strikers however is another story... KEEP GOING WON"T BE LONG!!! They will break!!!! Their not getting what they want either....that's the money, greed always rates over all else, Money, money, money, tick tock !!! GO CAESARS EMPLOYEES!!!!!
Thanks to the idiot flying down the Expressway last night in a gold coloured Jeep who cut my 17 year old daughter off and hit the driver side mirror. I am thankful you didn't send her into the ditch and cause a serious accident. Mirrors can be replaced. She cannot be replaced.
I was in the dollarstore on walker by home depot this evening. I was there with my 5 kids. We were standing in the choolate isle, where I was letting my children pick a treat. My five your old son was just standing there looking at all the options. He had his back turned to oncoming traffic. An older man comes behind him without him noticing. I was about to ask my son to let the gentleman walk by when he physical pulled on my son's sweater to move him out of the way. Then goes on to tell me that I need to control my children. His words were " control them. There yours to control. Control them!" I was so caught off guard I didn't even have a response for him. But my blood was boiling by the time I got to the check out. Was I over reacting or should I have said somethhing?
To the woman driving the white mini-van and the gentleman driving the black charger (at Central Park Athletics) in the parking lot, you were BOTH wrong. I'm the driver from behind you both. To the woman driving the mini-van, you should never just stop in the driving lane. You weren't even at one of the main entrances. You did not put on a signal or your four-ways. How were the vehicles behind you to know what you were doing? To the man in the Charger, I know the stopped van was frustrating but you shouldn't have tried to pass in the parking lot of a place that runs activities for students during March Break. To the child, that swung open the back door of the van and jumped out with your sports bag, you were lucky!! You came very close to being seriously injured this morning.
Parents, if your child is able enough to attend 'sports camps', they are able to walk the extra 25 feet that would be required if the driver actually parked in a parking spot and then let the child out of the vehicle. NEVER just stop and let your kids out in front of traffic. To all drivers, please practice patience when driving, it's March Break. Kids are running everywhere and sadly, they don't always look where they are going.
