My son lost a cheque I had given him to give to our vet. He had last seen it while at his bank. He noticed it missing when he went to pay for his purchases at Walmart. He notified me immediately. Worried sick this cheque would fall in the wrong hands, I called the Walmart store to see if someone had found it and turned it in. The woman who took my call couldn't get me connected to anyone who would be able to help me. Helplessly I hung up the phone and decided to drive to the store and see if the cheque had been turned in. The answer was no. I went home and called my bank's 24 hour service to see if anything could be done to stop payment on the cheque. I was told it couldn't be done but they would put an alert on my account. Not feeling better about the missing cheque I resigned myself to a few days of worry. Not five minutes after hanging up with my bank my phone rang. I answered and a kind voice asked if I was so and so. I said yes I was. Then that angel of a woman said "well I found your cheque. You can stop worrying." Instantly a burden was lifted off my shoulders. This wonderful women had noticed the cheque laying on the ground in the parking lot of her bank and picked it up. When she got home she immediately called me because she knew I would be sick with worry. She gave me her address and I went and picked up my cheque. There are truly honest people in this world and I was blessed to have met one of the best today. I am so grateful to this lovely woman. So lovely lady thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have been spotted.
Spotted: around 10:00pm at the Tim hortons on Huron church and techumseh, to the older man that offered to buy my 3 year old nephew two donuts today because he saw there were two vanilla dip left and he wanted them. Thank you for brightening up our night! He is loving those donuts!
At the Macs' on Walker Rd by Red Sail I was standing behind a gentleman who was having his lottery tickets scanned. He commented how he usually wins on the $1 ones, and sure enough he had a $5 winner. "Know what I do with this?" he says with a smile? He then placed it on the counter saying that it should cover the cost of the things in my hand. Going out to my car, I saw him chatting very kindly to a young couple with a baby before he got into his van. What a wonderful spirit on a Friday afternoon.
I needed to share a amazing angel today in eastside Walmart while checking out today I was paying for my groceries and didn't have enough for a outside gazebo the woman behind me asked the cashier how much it was and told the cashier to put it on her bill you have been spotted and made my day thank you so much I will pass on that chain reaction of kindness
I wanted to send a shout out to the owner of Riviera Pizza on Wyandotte Street East, Peter.
My 7 year-old daughter and I stopped in for a small take-out snack last night. While we were waiting she was asking me questions about how chef's make pizza - particularly how they throw the dough in the air.
Peter must of overheard her curiosity and invited her into the kitchen as he was about to make himself a pizza for dinner.
I watched from the bar with a smile on my face as he showed her the process from start to finish. He let her touch the dough, taste the cheese, and even feel the heat of the oven from a distance.
We live in LaSalle and were in Riverside for baseball, so we had never been to this establishment before but I must say, if this is how Peter treats his customers then he deserves recognition and community support.
You made my daughter's night and she couldn't wait to share the experience with her older brothers. She practically bounded out of your restaurant with happiness.
So, thank you Peter and Riviera pizza! We won't be able to order often but we will order whenever we can. Kudos to you!

Thank you to the woman with the 4 month old baby girl at the Tecumseh dog park last Sunday. She noticed I was pregnant and walking with my boyfriend and started talking to me. I feel like the closer I get to my due date the more horror stories people want to tell me about their delivery or new born baby and how hard and stressful it is. This will be my first baby so my boyfriend and I are excited but extremely nervous. She stood there for about a half hour talking to us about how much she loved motherhood and gave us so much positive advice! Not once did she tell us something negative. She gave me referrals to great websites for moms on Facebook and just advice in general about her experience. She was so positive and upbeat that I didn't want to stop talking to her. When we finally parted ways my boyfriend looked at me and said "she just made me feel 100% better and more confident about having our baby" and it's true she did. I felt really good after talking to her. So I want to say a big thank you from my boyfriend and I!
