Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
A group of students from Southwood school conducted a neighborhood clean up in honour of Earth Day. While they were picking up garbage in the neighborhood, a man drove up and thanked the students for being good environmental stewards. He then gave a generous financial donation to our school's Eco team. We did not get this man's name, but this kind act renewed our faith that what our students were doing was valuable and important! To the man in the white van, thank you for paying it forward! & #9829;& #65039;
To the person that found my cell phone on the Crosstown 2 West route, and turned it into Shoppers at Wyandotte and Campbell, last Thursday morning (April 18th). Thank you so much
So this has been bothing me since Tuesday and I need to share.
My son who is 8 years old went to Lacasse Park in Tecumseh with his Respite Worker. It was their first day together after a few months of me trying to find one for him with no luck, but that's not the problem.
While they were out I received a phone call from a private name, private number, it was a police officer asking if I knew that my son was with this man This man who by the way has a police clearance in order to become a respite worker, this man who I had interviewed a week prior.
All because 3 woman noticed that my son didn't look like the man he was with, so their conclusion of the situation was that the man isn't his father, so he must be kidnapped because he's calling the man by his first name.
1st thank you for being that concerned, but 2nd please people be aware that not all children with Respite Workers are in wheel chairs, or have Autisim, or Down Syndrom, some kids have mental health issues, and hidden behaviour issues and need a Respite Worker. 3rd that man my child was with could have been an uncle, family friend, neighbor or a boyfriend of mine, because my son's father isn't around and hasn't been for 5 years.
Please when being observant, you keep all factors in mind before calling 911 and reporting things.
So my husband and I were at Wendy's at Ouellette and Tecumseh when 3 young guys were bullying a smaller fella outside the restaurant. The smaller fella opened his backpack and handed over what looked like a video game. The 3 bullies grabbed it and ran off. A passenger in a car on Tecumseh Rd witnessed what happened and got out of a car and ran after the bullies. He caught them and got the game back and returned it to the smaller fella.
What an awesome guy to not just sit back and watch but to take action.
I had a procedure done on April 11th and stayed for two nights on 2nd Floor North at Windsor Regional Hospital (Met) (2107A).
Dr Bradley Jasey was once again amazing. His kind demeanor has always been so reassuring and the great care he has taken to ensure this procedure and all three of my past c-sections have gone perfectly has been so greatly appreciated!
The nurses on 2nd floor North! Every single one of you were so kind, patient, and gentle. You all came in to work with smiles and kindness, ready to do whatever you could to make your patients as comfortable as possible throughout recovery. I had a lot of meds going on so I can't remember all the names but Katie and Megan R I will remember you clearly for making me smile. I felt very blessed to have you look after me. Thank you!
Thanks to the guy in the GMC grey truck at the Tim Horton's on Jefferson yesterday at noon for paying for my order. You sir made my day! That was very nice of you.
My dad was diagnosed with cancer March 18, since then he has spent time in the Met campus Hospital. The nurses and all the staff made this unpleasant event much easier to deal with. He passed on April 17 and the nurses on the fifth floor were angels they did every thing they could to make my dad and the rest of the family and friends comfortable THANK YOU!
I just like to thank you to the old gentleman who pull out a cart for me at Costco . I had my hands full with my two year old daughter, I cannot pull it out from the other carts. So I like to thank you , and bless you.
