Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
Yesterday at the intersection of Wyandotte & Windsor, was a funeral procession driving by and what I witnessed was very touching!! A man who was on his bike, not only did he stop but he got off his bike and stood beside it. You don't see anything like this anymore and I just wanted to say, you my friend, have been spotted!! :)

My husband works hard every single day. When he gets home from work he loves to spend time with the kids. My kids and I go for walks so they can play Pokemon Go and I love it because they WANT to go outside, they WANT to go for walks. I do not play the game myself because I suck at it and I don t care to play because that is my choice. My husband (a step father to my kids) however is excited to install it and go for walks with the kids and play because now he has something the kids love to do and he can bond more with them.
Last night he was out walking with the kids around 7pm when he was waiting at a corner with the kids to cross the street. While he was walking someone shouted you are too old to play games, get a job . My husband let it go and assumed it was just some kids looking for a reaction. He then proceeded to walk towards our street and 2 ladies sitting on the porch also made a comment saying it is one thing to see kids playing this game, now we have grown adults playing this stupid game just loud enough that my husband could hear it clear. He stopped and told the kids to wait there on the sidewalk. He walked up to the house with the ladies on the porch and asked do you want to know a good reason why I play this game and they replied no. He turned around and kept walking back to the kids because he likely would have said something he could not take back and the kids were right there. He came home and told me everything.
My youngest son at 12 asked me why people laugh because they play this game. My heart broke when I had to explain some people like to think they are better/ cooler than everyone else. Shame on everyone trying to put a label on people playing this game, walking outside and enjoying time with their friends/ family while doing so. The fact that you think you are so much better than people playing this game is so sad. My husband was so excited to go do something with the kids and spend time with them instead he gets comments made directly at him because he is an adult walking with kids and has his phone up walking. You might not think that s quality time spent with kids but when they come home they tell me all the stories about how they caught this and their stepdad caught that. They talk about the funny things that happened while they were out for a walk with their stepdad. You people who judge people walking around playing this game even if they are young or old should be ashamed of yourself. That s their choice to spend the time they have after working 10-12 hour days they want they choose.
Signed

I just wanted to take the time to say a huge thank you to the wonderful lady who stopped to help me downtown on University Ave around 6:30 pm on Thursday when I fell. I honestly think I would have continued to sit on the sidewalk in shock if it weren't for you running across the street to make sure I was okay. Thank you so much for offering to call me an ambulance, and thank you even more for walking me back to work when I insisted on returning to work haha. Unfortunately I was right with my initial guess of my wrist being broken. It really means a lot that you took the time to show so much kindness and compassion to a complete stranger, I was sad to hear I missed you when you went into Starbucks to check on me the next day! I'm really hoping that I can somehow find you through this so I can thank you properly. If you're in the area again, please come to Starbucks so I can thank you in person! I'll be the barista with the cast haha.
To the VERY generous lady on the east bound crosstown 2 around 2pm July 18. You insisted I took that $20. I bought my youngest his very own pikachu, and we wanted to thank you from the bottom of our hearts! That was way to kind and you would NOT let me decline! You have made a 2 year old extremely happy! You're a very kind and beautiful woman!
This weekend I spent my day volunteering at the Special Olympics baseball tournament and witnessed somethings worth sharing. While the teams were having lunch a local band was entertaining everyone with their fun upbeat music. They started encouraging the children to join them and be a part of the band. The smiles and excitement coming from the faces of these young athletes was truly amazing. After the show they allowed a few players to play the drums, as everyone stood around watching and clapping it reminded me of how a simple kind act can bring such joy to everyone around. It took only a few moments to warm the hearts of everyone around. Thank you for reminding me what it means to let others feel included and what a little encouragement can do for a child or teen!! HOPICE WELLNESS BAND you have been spotted!!!
A customer found a Motorola Moto G cell phone on the side of the road (likely EC Row expressway) and brought it in to our store. The phone is locked to Koodo with a password. If you have lost this phone, you can come to the Bell Store on 23 Amy Croft Drive (beside All State Insurance and b2 Hair Salon).
Shout out to a lady from pro seal!
She paid for my parking this morning! I was already nervous going to see this doctor and forgot to bring change. I was just thinking about running over to the shoppers to see if I can break a bill when you walked up to me and said this is good till 11:30!
I'm definitely going to pass on this good deed by paying for someone's coffee later today in the drive through.
Thank you so much!
