Late night fundraising

On Monday night around 8:45pm I heard a quiet knock at my door. When I answered I was very surprised to see a middle aged woman from the Kidney Foundation asking for donations. I respect the need to fundraise for worthy charities however women walking the streets alone in the dark knocking on doors doesn't seem like the right way to do it.
She must have sensed my disappointment and upset because she said she was just doing her job when I politely said that I was not interested in donating.
I am sorry for making her feel as though she needed to defend her actions, however knocking on doors that late in the evening to ask for money is not only dangerous but its unsettling for the person hearing the knock.
Kidney Foundation - You've been spotted for putting the safety of your volunteers/ employees at risk!

Another Walmart Story

I went to Walmart yesterday morning to get my passport picture taken. The debit machine was down and I only had $16 in my wallet, the cost of the passport photo was $20.35. The gentleman behind me in line volunteered to pay the rest for me. I thought that was the sweetest thing ever! I had shopping to do and the lady said I could pay when I was done, so I thanked that man but did not accept his offer. I went shopping and the cashier had on bunny ears and was super friendly, also the woman at the portrait studio was very friendly and funny, all in all a great trip to the Eastside Walmart! Also, I had to go to the passport office after that and it was very crowded. They have a table at the back where can fill out paperwork and there were 3 people there filling out their paperwork so I waited, 2 people left and took the pens that are provided, so I asked the third person if I could use her pen, she said it was her pen so I told her I would find her when I was done filling out my paperwork and give her the pen back. She agreed but was finished before I was and came back over to me to tell me to keep the pen! What a sweet lady. I left the pen so that others could use it. Sorry this is so long but I knew Windsor people were great and friendly and yesterday they proved it for me!

When a child knows between right and wrong...

To the lady with her 7 year old at Walmart on the East end. I was going through my purse while shopping and your 7 year old noticed I dropped a paper out of my purse as I grabbed my phone. You and him both walked up to me while I was talking and I noticed him looking up at me with the most adorable smile. I looked at him holding a $20 bill and reaching out to hand it to me. I asked what this is for and he said I dropped it from my bag. It was so precious looking in his eyes and seeing how happy he was to return it to me. To that precious little man and his lovely mother. Thank you so much for raising such an amazing little man. I hope he enjoyed that $20 dollars(buying what he wanted). I hope he really truly grows to keep being the person he was today.

Signed a lady who was happy to be able to share such a cute story

Cook's Shop

I want to give HUG props to The Cook's Shop. Saturday night a small group of us had reservations at 8:30. We arrived a little early (5 or 10 min) and were asked to wait until our table became available. 8:30 came and went and not 1, not 2 but 3 different staff stopped to apologize for the wait. The cause was the people before us were taking their time. We assured the staff that everything was fine and it was no big deal. We were than seated shortly after nine. Once at the table our waitress immediately insisted on a round of drinks for all of us on the house. We were stunned. After our meal the owner himself presented us all with a dessert drink also on the house. He apologized saying how very sorry he was and appreciated our patience. This says two very important things about this fine establishment. 1, they wanted us, their customer happy. 2 and MOST important is that they did not try to rush the people out that had the table before us, they were able to enjoy their evening without feeling pushed out the door. Not only is the food AMAZING, but the customer service is TOP NOTCH!!!!! So to this I say to The Cook's Shop, you have been spotted for your excellence!! Keep up the good work.
