Michael's Rainbow loom class ... what a disapointment!

I usually hear good things about Michaels classes and workshops. I took my 7 yr. old today for the Rainbow loom class and I just have to share my disappointment. The so called "Instructor" did not teach the kids ANYTHING! As she said: "This is not a class, we learn from each other! You are free to ask me or any of the other kids in here".

This is not a class? I know I only paid $5.00 , but I was totally expecting some kind of guidance for my kid since she really wanted to learn something new. And let me be clear, is not the $5.00. Is the principle behind it! Specially since you advertise all of the classes, and I quote:

... " there is always something new to learn and do."

I didn't loose 5.00 what I lost was my time.

Please don't take me wrong, my kid had fun. But, I would rather invite some of her friends to the house , turn on the big screen and stream some youtube videos on how to loom!

BTW Mastermind has the same classes for FREE and they do teach the kids new patterns... did I mentionFREE!

I needed great assistance with my sleep apnea mask. I went to Vital Aire on Grand Marais and the lady there was so pleasant and helped me tremendously. You bent over backwards to help me, everyone of the staff there are great, but you my dear are the best. So grateful there are people in the world like you. Thank you again, you have been Spotted in Windsor

Smiles everywhere!

My mother had to go into hospital for tests and well who likes doing that on such a beautiful day like today. Everyone I saw working today at Hotel Dieu, especially Vickie who works security at the main desk had smiles for everyone. A pleasure on such a nice day when everyone wanted to be outside.
Thank you!

Mentoring

There is a great program being offered all over Ontario, including Windsor/ Essex. It is designed to help students age 14-21 with intellectual disabilities find mentors in the community based on similar interests. Take a look at these.... if you would be interested in being a part of this great opportunity, please email me at sblanchard@communitylivingontario.ca

What were we thinking?

Two young men were driving a pick up truck on the ice of Lake Erie. Not a good idea after two warm days! Now they are stuck here in Pidgeon Bay, Kingsville. Good thing for cell phones! Ps- they could walk to shore-but seem to be waiting for assistance.

Ediquette or Law?

I must admit that I have not been part of a funeral procession in a while. I had the unfortunate opportunity to be in one on Saturday. We did all the things the funeral director asked us to. Bright lights, flashers, and big funeral flag waving in the breeze. I almost got side-swiped twice, cutoff, and just about rear ended. Is it a law, or just respect that you let a procession proceed safely, and together towards a loved ones final resting place. I am ashamed of the citizens of Windsor that could not wait probably only 3 minutes to let a procession through.

Terrible Experience

I will be calling pita pit management tomorrow after the worse experience there. I choked on something very hard, couldn't breathe (gasping for air) & puking in the washroom. Everyone heard, only person to help was my friend who came to the washroom door banging on it. I showed the cashier the hard thing I was choking on when I was at the table, as I took another bite to my surprise something else got lodged in my throat which lead my to the washroom incident. I tell the cashier everything & all he says is sorry. So angry right now. Now I'm coughing up blood, very irritated!!!!!
