Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
Late last night, we discovered that a family photo we were planning to give as a graduation gift today had been misplaced. We finally gave up looking and headed to the east end WalMart to buy a card.
Even though it was 9:30 pm, we stopped by the Photo Centre and asked the lady if there was any way we could get an enlargement picture re-printed ASAP. Unfortunately, we didn't have the picture file on our phone; it was in a WalMart on-line account. She said the on-line file orders usually took a while to come through now that WalMart had gone to the 24-hour photo system, and it might be too late to get another copy that night before they closed.
We decided to try placing an on-line order anyway, and she offered to keep the machine turned on for a few extra minutes, just in case the order arrived. Thankfully, within 10 minutes she received our order and printed out the photo, even though she was technically closed for the night.
We didn't get her name, but she saved the day! Thanks for the gracious service...she seemed almost as happy as we were that it all worked out!

This morning at around 6am I had taken my dog out before I headed out for work when another dog came running up to us. The stray dog looked like a Husky, looked very thing, and very scared. It didn't act aggressive towards my dog and it listens to simple commands (sit, come, stay.) I was able to look at its collar and there were two telephone numbers on one tag and I believe a west Elgin vet tag( possible indicating rabies shots) I brought the dog into the back yard brought my dog upstairs into my house and went to get my phone. When I came outside its ears shot behind its head and the dog bolted. I hope someone in this area finds this poor dog, he/ she looked terrified. I would have brought the dog into my house but I didn't know how the dog would react.
Keep your eyes peeled!!

I just want to say thank you to the person who handed in my purse to the check out lady at the Dollarama on Amy Croft Drive. I had my bag in one hand and my little grandson in the other, not realizing I didn't have my purse. I got to the car and put my grandson in his seat and then realized I didn't have my purse. Thank you so so much from handing it in. May God bless you. :)

To the man walking his dog down Banwell Rd. near Tecumseh this morning at approximately 10:15 am. I just want you to know that it was me beeping my horn vigorously when I witnessed you walking your dog down Banwell Rd. texting on your cell phone. I saw you when your dog began smelling or chewing on the weeds and you began repeatedly pulling on his leash and kicking him in the face. You did not acknowledge my horn and as I looked in my rear view mirror as I passed, you continued to kick him in the face and I continued to beep my horn. There are more HUMANE and effective ways to discipline your dog! It has been bothering me all day and I wish I had turned around and given you a piece of my mind! You are a real tough guy to beat on a loyal, defenseless animal! YOU HAVE BEEN SPOTTED!!!
