Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
Today, Sunday December 20th, Santa, Elsa, Peppermint the Elf and myself , Mrs.Claus were in Tim Horton's on Chandler to pick up a coffee after a wonderful time with some amazing children at the Riverside Sportsman Club. There was a gentleman in line in front of us. We chatted for a few minutes, and then it was his turn at the counter. Santa Claus meanwhile was handing out candy canes to the children that were in the store. Pretty soon it was our turn to place our order. Coffee and hot chocolate orders placed, I went to pay, and the kind gentleman in front of us had already paid for our order. I thank this kind man. It is our busy season and to have someone pay for coffee truly touched my heart. I have always told Santa that there is still good in the world, in spite of the things the elves tell him. We paid it forward at the till, and we want to take this time to wish all of you, where ever you are, a very Merry Christmas, and a prosperous New Year. Continue to do good deeds throughout the year, continue to put your good fortunes on Spotted in Windsor, and I will make sure to pass all this along to Santa. One good deed at a time will snowball into three good deeds, into 6 good deeds and so on. Pretty soon all the joy that is spread during the holidays will happen daily throughout the year and the naughty list will get shorter and the nice list will get longer.
Merry Christmas to All and to all a Good Night!!!
Mrs Claus, Santa Claus, Peppermint Cuddlesocks and Elsa
On Saturday, December 19, 2015 my husband and I attended a funeral at Families First on Dougall. As we left the funeral home and proceeded in the procession to the cemetery we drove down Dougall Avenue. We were the second last vehicle in the procession. As we drove I noticed 2 boys standing in a driveway of a home in the 3500 block of Dougall. They stood quietly and proudly with one hand on their heart and in their other hand was a basketball. After all the cars in the procession passed they continued their game of basketball. To the parents of these boys.....congratulations!!!!!! You must have taught these boys to be respectful and considerate young men!!! To the two young men....thank you!!!
I was at the Dollar store today on County Rd 22. I was checking out and there was a gentleman ahead of me. They asked him if he would like to donate a dollar for the food drive. He said he would. They had a basket full of food on the counter and you pick what you would like to purchase. He purchased and donated the entire basket. My hat is off to you sir. Merry Christmas.
I was at Starbucks today on Tecumseh road and a wonderful woman in a bright Blue truck with WOJO on the back paid for my order.
A very special thank you to you, I returned the favor to the people behind us.
I always heard of people being so kind and paying it forward but today was my first time receiving it. Thank you again and Happy holidays. You made my week.
Last night my husband and I forgot to lock our car. Thank god no valuables were left inside. Someone rummaged threw our car and threw papers everywhere.
Please people be safe and cautious. Make sure you leave no gifts in your car or valuables.
I was very lucky. But to the theifs preying on others karma will come back around.
Every year my mother gives my kids Christmas money and takes them to the mall to pick out there own gifts. This year on the way to the mall she had told them the story about Justice the dog who was tapped up and left out in the cold. They then decided to donate there Christmas money to the humane society to help pay for his vet bill. I would like to spot my mom, kids and niece and nephew for there big hearts. Merry Christmas everyone.
While at our work Christmas party on Erie street, we were approached by a homeless man while out for a cigarette (not condoning smoking). He explained his story to us and we obviously felt bad for him, but had no change to spare. When we went out the next time he approached us again, explaining his story, and told us he had no family, no friends, and all he wanted was a hot meal. I would like to thank my co-workers husband, who stepped up and gave the man a generous gift, so he could have a hot meal! The man was so overwhelmed at the amount he received and started to cry.
Thank you to Randy, for being such a kind soul to this man!!
Above and Beyond!
I just want to take time out to say how extremely considerate and helpful Peter was from the new Spago Restaurant in South Windsor! My friends and I figured out, sort of last minute, that we were all available to get together for a night of dinner and drinks. During the Christmas Season it's difficult to make plans with friends who have busy lives and kids to take care of and busy social calendars. I also know how busy it is for restaurants during this time of year. My girlfriend Facebooked Spago asking if they take reservations and tagged me in it. I immediately received a message from Peter at Spago restaurant. He asked me when we wanted to come in and what time and for how many and after chatting he confirmed we were all set to visit their establishment. No phone calls to be made. No hassle, no problems, all set, easy as that! We can't wait for our Bestie Triple Date Night with great food and drinks to celebrate Christmas! Thank you Peter for going above and beyond, contacting us and assisting us and making a successful date night out! Much appreciated and can't wait!
