Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
Last night my mother and I went out to the casino and decided we would hit up hurricanes for their 2-4-1 burgers. We have one particular waitress who always serves us and at one point came over to speak to us months ago regarding my mother having cancer . She explained her mother as well battled cancer and just wanted to let us know my mother as well as our family were always on her mind and in her prayers . Last night once again she was very friendly and asked how everything was going. When it came time to leave we asked for the bill, she came back and told us we were set to go and it was on the house tonight ! ... both my mother and myself were thrown off and confused and myself being a waitress also know of things are wrong or messed up you accommodate customers but that wasn't the case . Instead she took care of our bill and simply told us to enjoy our night all because she said she likes us. It was a nice surprise and touched my heart . Just want to thank that beauty of a person at hurricanes for being so compassionate and caring all the time :)

Rocky was a shining star, an achiever and proud to be gay. He had everything in life to live for including a high profile new job and a family he adored and whom supported him endlessly with great pride. It is now apparent that Rocky suffered from depression. We understand that if this scenario is possible in our family it is a risk for any family with an LGBTQ youth. Rocky made a difference in life and as a family we are determined his message continues to be delivered and makes a difference in others lives.

To whom ( yup I use whom) ever found my DEB'S DINER sign and returned it to my restaurant, a very big thanks. We had not noticed that it blew away yesterday. Your thoughtfulness has not gone unnoticed. I was happy to see my sign at my door as I drove up to my diner this morning. Again thank you.

This has been a rough 2 weeks for me because I have been planning to move out west for work. Telling my dad was the hardest part. He doesn't want me going out there alone with no family or friends. We had a long talk and I told him this is what I needed to do for work. He was trying to convince me its better to stay here and he will help me until I find a better job in my field. He continued to say you are only 19 and I want you to stay here with your family. I made my case and left to my room because of how upset I was. This whole week we would still have coffee in the morning but we wouldn't really talk. This morning I woke up and he wasn't home(he left to visit a friend). I got to work and opened my email. I noticed an email from my dad so I opened it up. The top said "I love you and will always love you, and just below were the details for a flight to Calgary he had booked for me. So to that man who can seem so stubborn at times and so stuck in the past. I love you for making my morning and at the same time making my mascara run. I promise I will make you proud.
Signed your baby girl now and always xox
