Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
Would like to "spot" all the kind and giving people that donated to our Windsor West All Star baseball team that was out raising money for there up coming tournaments at the LCBO and Freshco locations on Huron Church! Our little league players are putting a lot of time and dedication to their team and we greatly appreciate our community's support. :) A big heart felt thank you for everyone's generosity, every little bit makes a difference.
Today while fishing during the Cops and Kids fishing derby I caught something I couldn't pull in. So I gave the rod to an adult and he started reeling it in. After a few minutes of careful pulling this little guy came to the top. I tried to reel him in all the way but he was too heavy and snapped my line. I have never really caught anything but fish or nothing, was really funny to get this teddy bear in a prison outfit during the cops and kids finishing event.
I would like to tell whoever found my wallet on the side of country road 8 and Howard. I had no idea it was missing until I got a phone call from the tech OPP officer. Saying that someone had turned in my wallet. I have two small children, and don't normally carry much cash on me. That day I had. Yard sales were around so I made sure I had some cash. My ID bank everything even the pictures of my children all was there. Nothing was touched. There was no note or msg the officer said. Kindly gave me my wallet back at the tech OPP station and I went on my way.
I can't get it out of my head, I'm so shocked that someone so truly amazing did something so kind for me! Took nothing in return, not even a dime you have no idea how greatfull I am. If your reading this and it was you thank u! Your an angel! What goes around comes around!
The light is out at Tecumseh Rd east and Annie. . In between Lauzon Rd and Lauzon parkway.. traffic was slightly backed up when I went by. People don't realize you need to treat it as a 4 way stop! Please be careful if you have to go this way! I tried calling 311 but they are closedoing because it's Sunday. .
Well...with the new by-law being implemented on July 1, 2014...it seems that there is now a new low of stealing Herby Curby garbage containers. The cost of a large 96 gal Hurby Curby is $149.99 plus tax to purchase, which most families would need.... but a mere $5.99 (plus tax) to rent monthly.
The push is on to make sure you have a container that meets regulation or your garbage will not be picked up. We have lived in our home for 25 years and slowly but surely the neighbourhood is being taken over by rental units where landlords do NOT provide the proper refuse containers for their tenants..which has seemed to lead, unfortunately, to a rise in theft of personal property.
So, word to the wise...if you have a Herby Curby, you might want to make sure it is in a secure place that it cannot be taken. It will now cost us money to replace ours.
Please read the provided URL's so that you can make wise choices for your homes...and good luck with keeping them.
As a resident of Windsor and a life long resident of Ford City i would like to take a minute to THANK the people of Windsor and surrounding area's for coming out and supporting the, Ford City Resident In Action Volunteer committee annual Fireworks and BBQ. The Fire works were usually held on or near May 18 long weekend, but were moved to June 21 due to the weather. There was still an amazing showing of support from the community and awesome people of Windsor. Thanks to the support the residents group will once again be able to have several children events for the kids in the Ford City area. To the residents group I must say you are an amazing group of people to be able to organize such a amazing show of fire works and BBQ, you all deserve a HUGE thanks for what you have been doing for the neighbor hood.. Bringing back this event took an extreme amount of work from all of you. THANK YOU FOR CARING and working so hard to hold an event that is incomparable to any other.I would also like to thank all that have volunteered help and sponsored the event. Without your help we would not have had such a wonderful event. THANK YOU YOU HAVE BEEN SPOTTED
I was driving on Riverside Dr. E when my tire went flat. I pulled into nearby Kawanis Park & thought, not a huge deal, I'll just call CAA. I went looking in my purse for my cell & had a flash of memory. I had left it on the table at home. Of all days! My 3 year old was starting to get antsy & now I was a little stressed. We got out of the van & sat on a blanket under a tree. A man pulled into the parking lot in a black GMC & asked us if we needed help. He kindly let me use his phone, but the best part was how nice he was to my daughter. While I was on the phone, he kept her laughing. He was so nice & he offered to get us some water. I feel horrible because I didn't get his name, but my daughter said his name was Rusty. I have no idea if she's right about that or not, but "Rusty", thanks again & you're kindness has been spotted.
To the customer in Dollarama on Dougall today around 3 pm ...you made it very obvious that you walked off with a pair of sandals that you DID NOT PAY FOR and noticed I was watching you because you were riddled with guilt so to make yourself feel better you went up to our key holder and proceeded to tell her that you didn't steal those sandals that you were wearing ..that's funny because no one mentioned sandals lol ...I saw what you walked in with and it wasn't those new ones that you walked off with and because I said " hope you enjoy your new sandals" you had to come back in the store and tell everyone how much money you make and where you work and how you would never do that ..blah blah blah ..well YOU DID and you FOOLED NO ONE SHAME ON YOU
