Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
To people living in/ around the villages of riverside area, my 10 yr old daughter had her bike stolen today, while she was at school. The bike is a purple super cycle SC1800. We live in the villages, and someone on an adjacent street said he seen a young man riding a purple bike trying to figure out how to get off of the street and he was wearing no shoes. I am almost certain this is the guy who took her bike because whom ever took it, left behind their black nike flip flops in my back yard. I know this area gets a bad rap but I know there are a lot of good, honest and hard working people that live here. Please if any one hears or sees anything please contact the Windsor Police Thanks
I just read for the third time Dark Confessions of Extraordinary Ordinary Woman written by local Jenn Boakes Sadai. I want to spread the word because of the uplifting feeling I got each time I read it. She really captures the fact that we all have some sort of roadblock in our lives and there's always something we can do to make it better. It's not about giving up or feeling self pity, it's about making a change that will better your life whether it's big or small. I really feel there are so many women that could use a little a "pick me up" and this is it!

I honestly don't know what to say about today.
First let me explain the chain of events of my morning.
At 9:45 today my children had a paediatrician appointment at the drs office on the corner of walker and Tecumseh.
We got from very stressful news about my 3 year old sons health.
We left the drs office at 10:25. As we were waiting at the lights to turn onto walker an ambulance flew by us and turned into the drs office parking lot.
I remember saying to my sister "I hope everyone's okay."
We got home around 11:30 when my sister sent me a tweet, saying "elderly man drives car into doctors office" I read the tweet and automatically knew it was the drs office we had just left.
My next throught was what time did the happen. The tweet was sent out at 10:31. Literally less then 10 minutes after we left.
I don't know what caused the accident, whether it was loss of focus, poor judgement, being in a rush, whatever it was, if my son hadn't been rushing us to the car we could have been standing right there when the car hit the building.
That 10 minutes could have been the difference of my son being sick, to my children and my little sister being gone forever.
With all that being said, I hope it's a eye opener to people. Windsor has some terrible drivers for mutiple reasons but no matter what is it ever worth the life that can be lost?
In an instant my entire world could have been shattered. It could by anyone's life.
So when you get into your cars please be aware, the end result of any accident could mean someone losing their children, their parents, siblings, bestfriend etc.
No where you have to go is worth rushing and risking someone's life.
I'm thankful to have my children with me after today. Yes my son is sick, but at least he's still with me.
Please be careful.
Today as I was driving on Ouellette Avenue, I hit a red light and was stopped at the intersection of Ouellette and University, the corner of Pizza Pizza and The Dugout. The light rain just began, as I looked out the window of my car as I was talking to my friend, when I noticed a young male maybe between the age of 19-23, with 2 brown bags walking up to the less fortunate collecting on the sidewalk. Head phones in ear and just a straight face, he starts taking out hamburgers and food and giving it to the men sitting on the sidewalk not expecting or saying anything, not just one person every person, I seen him hand out to multiple people up the street until I couldn't see him anymore. This was the most refreshing thing I have seen in awhile, kind hearted people helping those who need it not expecting anything in return. I told my friend I would send it to the spotted website and see how it goes. Cheers to the kind people who do good and not expect anything in return on a daily basis.
I was on Erie Street this past weekend enjoying Carrosel. As we were walking down the street we noticed a Hookah bar. I just have one question. Why are Hookah smokers allowed to smoke on patios but cigarette smokers are not? I am not a smoker but it seems to me that this pastime is becoming more and more popular with teenagers. Is there not a legal age limit for smoking? Or do these rules only apply to smoking tobacco?
To the guy walking his big brown dog(red collar) today around 1:30pm on the corner of Bruce and Pitt St. You walked past some construction and didn't realize some of the fresh asphalt that may have been left behind from a construction vehicle. You took your dog to the side and took the time to diligently check all his paws to make sure he didn't step in any! :) Awesome pet ownership!!!
I came into work at 9 am and parked on a side street I always park on. Apparently they are going around posting signs and ticketing people. They state that they told everyone that their cars had to be moved by noon. Maybe the residents I work at 9 am I dont live here. I was never informed! Im overly pissed that the city can have the nerve to steal money from working citizens that dont have a parking lot to park in. Especially for a one time no park zone!
6 Star Home Services operated by Chris Udall came to our home on Felix. Gave my husband a quote for a new roof with an invoice. Independent young guy my husband(senior, retired) wanted to give a break too. Paid him over $1500.00 to purchase shingles, felt paper etc. on April 22nd. Tore of less than half the roof, dropped off 10 bundles of shingles and has not come back since. Will not answer phone or text message. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS GUY, HE IS A CROOK!!!
