So I was reading posts from the day on good ol Facebook.... Selfies, complaints, links, sarcastic sayings ect when I came across this story from my cousin. From what I gathered he was going to investigate complaints made about this house (he works for the city) with 4ft tall weeds, garbage all over the yard, basement windows open for any ol critter to climb in... Just nastiness. Naturally he thought this house was vacant & abandoned so went to put a notice on the door. He knocked & 2 kids came to the door about 6-7yrs followed by their mother. The mother asked why the city hasn't picked up any of her garbage, my cousin proceeded to inform her off the new bylaw concerning the garbage containers. Afterwards embarrassed she said she wasn't aware of this because she had no Internet or t.v in her home anymore. My cousin seeing the condition of the home, yard, woman, kids then went to McDonalds, bought $40 worth of food & handed it to the kids who answered the door n told him it was a treat & left before the mother could come to the door.
This act of kindness should happen more often. Pay it forward people... My cousin sure did. You've been spotted Todd Hamilton #payitforward #spottedinwindsor #mcdonalds

You were at the river with your kids. Your son threw the ball and it accidently hit your daughter on the head and he rushed over to tell her he was sorry he just over threw it. He was maybe 7-8 and your daughter was maybe 6. Your daughter was crying and you went over to calm her down. You sat down next to her and explained what happened and why she should forgive her brother. Simply the way you talked to her to calm her down was so inspiring. It's been so long since I've seen something so sweet. You looked like such a bad boy with your tattoos, beard and over 6feet big man(im not judging just pointing it out) and to see you sit on the ground with your daughter was so adorable. You called your son over and asked him what he would do if someone hit him with a ball so he would understand why your daughter said "I hate you" it was an initial reaction. Your son understood and said he was sorry and your daughter stood up and gave him a hug and said I love you to her brother. That moment alone made me and my 72 year old husband smile. We came home and he raced to the phone to call our daughters to tell them how amazing he felt just witnessing that whole thing. Anyways, you sir were amazing and incase you wondered why I walked up to you to give you a hug and my husband gave you a high five. We said good parenting, and you thanked us and smiled. You have some lucky children. #SpottedinWindsor #Parenting #Riverside #mademyday #Smiles
I was leaving work today and was turning left onto ouellette at park. I was waiting for the light to change an a couple with a puppy (perhaps american bulldog or boxer) were crossing the street towards me. The woman had the pup in her arms and when they got across put him down. The pup didn't want to walk. She started dragging him and picked him up slightly dangling him and yelling at him, " walk, move!"
By this time my light changed and cars were behind me. So I circled around trying to find where went bc if I felt sick and thought these people don't seem very nice. I could not find them :(. I'm venting on here bc a lot of people see this. I am assuming these people probably live downtown area. If you see a couple with a white puppy with a spot on his face, about 10 weeks old, keep an eye on them. I just feel like this poor pup did nothing wrong. He's a puppy :(
why do drivers just go without looking at their surroundings? I see this on a daily, no turn signal, tailgating, driving in the middle of both lanes and not checking their back widow when in reverse. today I was at Wal-Mart and walking back to my car this car pulls out and not even looking where the driver is going and hits my mom. a whole group of people saw the whole thing and the drivers family wants to argue with me that he never hit my mom. a lady clears my mom out of the way to make sure she was ok. ( and ma'am if you are reading this and you know who you are my mom and I want to say thank you for your help) while I spoke to the the driver and got the info I needed incase she was badly hurt. she wasn't hit hard but enough to make her hit the ground. a 51 yr old woman shouldn't have to worry when going shopping that someone is gonna back into her because they don't know how to look out the back window when in reverse.
is this how we drive? not paying attention to where we are going? just have the attitude to get out of my way or im gonna hit you? Windsor already has the highest insurance rates in Ontario, and drivers like this make it worse. why should we suffer and have to slam on our breaks because your cutting people off to get to the same red light? why should we have to yell and smack your vehicle to get your attention that you just backed into someone walking to their car. what happened to road etiquette? is it gone? do people just not respect the other drivers around them anymore? I feel sorry for people who don't pay attention, and why do I feel sorry? well, you don't know who is in our cars, we could have our clients in our cars driving them to whatever appointment or grocery store. some of us may even drive your grand parents or your disabled family members or even have a baby in the car. I see this on a daily, no one caring just speeding, no turn signals and cutting people off.. why? does it make you feel like a big shot that you drive like a moron? I just don't understand why some people have to drive like this, and im not saying all drivers are like this but im saying ive seen my fair share of people who shouldn't have their license. its a privilege to have a license, but that doesn't give you the right to hit someone and knock them to the ground because you don't feel like looking out your back window.
Townhouse/ apartment building burning down right now. Firefighters are on the scene. Hope everyone is safe.
