Careless Drivers

Today I was rear-ended by a careless driver that failed to stop and yield at a red light and crashed right into me!! With the OPP launching their distracted drivers program I'd like to remind everyone to please pay attention on the roads and always double check before turning. If this had been a motorcycle or a pedestrian the results could have been life changing. Pay attention when operating a vehicle its the law!!!!

364 Lancaster air cadets

A new year is upon us at the squadron. We are inviting all 12, 13, 14 year old youths who want the experience of being an air cadet to come out on Sept 8th, 2014 at the HMCS Hunter on Ouellette ave at 6:20 pm. I have my daughter in this program and it has helped her grow into a fine young adult. I encourage all parents of young teens to have there child get involved. Air cadets have opportunities many will never experience in a life time. This program really helps to find a great path in life at a young age. I'm so proud of the work and dedication of the Lancaster squadron staff. You are all amazing!

Windsor Market

I like shopping at the Market on Ottawa and Walker, especially in the summer, but with 2 small children it's impossible without bringing a stroller which is a pain. Most times I stop in without planning to do so, just because I'm driving by. Every time I dread hunting down carts in the parking lot, or looking all over carrying my 32lb 22m old looking for a cart. Or following someone leaving, just to get their cart. Half the time I just end up leaving if there's no carts. It's not even worth it. There's lots of stores to shop at.
You'd think they would have more then a few shopping carts available. I mostly see people using the Shoppers Drug Mart carts, so there's obviously a demand for shopping carts. How do these businesses that operate expect to get more business if they can't provide something as simple as a shopping cart? Get with the times!

Shocking behaviour at Devonshire mall.

To the young gentleman screaming racial slurs at the cell phone employee at Devonshire Mall on Wednesday August 27, 2024 you have been spotted. Not only were you using the incorrect term (the salesperson was Philippino and not Chinese) you showed all the shoppers how incredibly immature you were. You sir were lucky that our children were present as my husband who happens to be Chinese would have given you a much needed education.

Sincerely,
The mother of two beautiful Chinese children and the wife of the smartest (and handsomest) Chinese man.
#stopracism.

A Step Backwards For Humanity

I am trying to be positive but today is not one of them.I lost faith in a landlord of someone i care very much for although they knew their tenant was a hard working kind and loyal tenant that hadn't done anything wrong, they sped up the process of eviction with illegal means and stole property from her and knew the system well enough to deceive the police and essentially left her without all personal items clothes, mementos photos, textbooks, bed, new television coats, boots, shoes etc..she was left with nothing . The landlord clAimed she was fixing the locks gave 24 hours and like a Thief in the night left a wonderful young student With nothing but the shirt on her back..Shame on you as I walked across the apartment to prove her belongings were gone I slipped on the ceramic floor as she saw me fall on. My back the said landlord as well as police had no compassion to inquire if I was hurt badly or offer. A hand. You see they rendered no compassion as they did when the young lady sat crying. As she had nothing left of items she acquired over the years.I just. Want to say shame on you.Humanity took a large step backwords today.

No parking!

I understand paying for parking can be annoying but you still need to follow the rules on parking signs. This vehicle is in fact parked right next to a "no parking" sign and to top it of you're blocking a bit of my drive way. Thanks for that. I really hope in the future you park with caution in an area where it is aloud to park.

Heartless Bus Driver

I was driving into work downtown the other day at about 4 p.m. and noticed an older Asian gentleman running down the street, carrying a bag and waving at the bus he had obviously just missed. The bus stopped at the light on Goyeau, waiting to turn east on University. I pulled alongside and honked my horn to get the operator's attention. In the meantime this man was still running like mad and screaming for the driver to stop. I gestured that a person was attempting to catch his bus but this arrogant driver simply shook his head and flipped his hand in dismissal. As the light turned green and he was able to proceed, the running man had actually caught up to the bus but would have had to enter traffic to board it. As I turned west, I gasped when I looked in my rear-view mirror and watched the bus zoom along University, not even considering pulling over while the man crossed the street. I am horrified for that desperate, running man, and shocked by the behavior of one insulting, pompous Transit Windsor bus driver. How dare he! I have seen many, many bus drivers pull over to let someone on, even if it wasn't at a designated bus stop. It's just courtesy. Hell, it's just the moral thing to do. Do you really think someone on that bus would complain that he's stopping and taking up an extra five seconds of their trip? What has this world come to for such mean-spirited behavior? Seriously, I just shake my head.

You Raised Your Boys Well

I would just like to thank the two very young boys who helped me today in the Lasalle trails when I fell on my rollerblades, breaking and dislocating my elbow. I was with my dog and two young gentlemen, maybe 9 or 10 years old, stopped on their bikes to see if I was okay. When they realized I was seriously injured, they offered any help they could, left their bikes, and helped me carry my things, rollerblades, and my dog to where I could get more help. Your parents should be proud of you for noticing when somebody needed help and I'm thankful you boys came to my rescue.
