Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
Spotted Ward 7 Candidate Dan Speal www.vote4speal.ca
Platform:
Municipalities must be competitive .
To control taxes Windsor must grow.
Development and jobs must be encouraged by promoting our City as a product and recognizing citizens and businesses as customers.
Our quality of life is largely due to manufacturing which must not be abandoned. Small business alone in a service based economy will not sustain Windsor. Industry must produce goods and wealth. It's Council's job to deliver service, especially utilities to large users, at costs competitive with Tecumseh, Lakeshore and LaSalle.
The Person:
I have spent the past 25 years building a business and future for my family and employees. Windsor Power & Light provides several good paying stable jobs in the electrical, utility and civil field.
In His Own Words:
Weak does not Work .
We must focus on our advantages being affordability and location to encourage an economy which stands without taxpayer subsidies, and gives citizens, especially our kids the opportunity to work, contribute and be proud of Windsor.
Did you know?
Speal was the first in line to file his candidacy papers. He put the paperwork in on Feb. 19th

My daughter and I were shopping at the Bay when she found a bag of cosmetics from Sephora totally almost $300 .00 worth of merchandise. She returned it to the store, remembering the time she left her purse in her grocery cart and someone had turned it in with all of the contents intact. We had a great day shopping and agreed honesty is the best policy.Great job Brooke so proud of you.
I cannot believe the amount of people who have the audacity to use a shopping cart to haul their purchases home. Blocks and blocks away, shopping carts are spotted, no where near the stores that OWN them. This is STEALING, plain and simple. The cart does not belong to you and you took it; doubtful that you will return it, and even if you do, it's still theft. I cannot walk into a store and take a stroller, use it to walk my kid home and then bring it back, I would be arrested for shoplifting. Same concept....how on earth do people justify stealing the carts? If you need a cart because you don't have a vehicle or cannot carry your purchases home, then buy one. Can't afford one? Sorry, you still can't just steal one, just as I can't steal a car because I can't afford it. And the response, "Well, I am not going to keep it", doesn't make it right either, because a car or bicycle thief could say the same; "I just needed a ride".
I used to work for an apartment building and there was a room in the parking structure that had probably 150 carts from various store that people had helped themselves to; at $300 per cart, that's $45,000! Think about it!
Dozens of Police and Paramedics descend on a downtown Windsor Bar after a fight broke out late Saturday night.
On Friday, October 24 while driving up Lauzon towards the river, I happened to be driving behind an impatient driver. They swerved into the turning lane to pass someone turning right (for all the time that saved them) only to be stopped by the traffic light at Lauzon and Riverside (hah!)
While waiting for the light, I noticed something fly out the driver's side window onto the ground. Then another, then another! They peeled an orange and just threw the peel into the intersection and then turned west-bound onto Riverside and proceeded to continue to throw their garbage into the road. All was for naught though, as they couldn't properly enjoy their snack - they tossed the peeled orange out of the vehicle into someone's yard.
It's a shame that people feel that the world is their personal garbage bin. Yes, these items will decompose, however they still need to be cleaned up, and they still show an almost contemptuous disregard for one's environment. They should have kept it in the car - the nice citrus smell would definitely have offset the smell of the pig in the driver's seat.
A man riding a bike downtown was struck by a car late Saturday Night.
The accident happened on Pelissier near Wyandotte.
No word yet on the cyclists condition.
To the receptionist at the clinic in rexal on huron line and totten. You have been spotted.
You are the most unhappy, unfriendly person in a customer service job I've ever encountered. Every single time I walk in (i love the dr there and its close to home). Before I say anything you look at me and say "It's going to be more than an hr wait, you should go somewhere else."
Its not the fact she says this, its they tone she used. and its never been close to that long of a wait. I walked in once with my finger all messed up from work (a few doors day) and she yelled it at me once again. Told me to find another clinic, they don't deal with work injuries.
Once more I went there just to check on a status of a referral the dr was doing and she yelled it once I walked in the door. I said "Thats great, if thats what I wanted, i just need to check this"
She was super rude and didn't want to share the info, told me to go call the dr we were supposed to be referred too. (and ended up haven't been yet! because she never sent the fax!)
I don't understand why you work in a dr's office if you hate people! its mind blowing. Every other clinic has the decency to be cordial, why can't you? If I didn't like the dr so much, I would never go back. i wonder if he knowws how you act?
