Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
On Thursday May 14th I brought my daughter to Party City on Walker Road so she could get a midevil costume for her field trip that Friday. While in the store I was helped by Bev who kindly showed me where the costumes where and helped me pick out the perfect dress for her field trip (even gave my daughter tips on keeping her dress up) Well Bev went over and above and helped me afford my daughter's costume by getting a discount for us she has been adopted into our family as our aunt.
So to Aunt Bev (wink wink lol) you have been spotted
Come join us at the Gourmet Emporium. It may become one of your new favourite "haunts" in Old Walkerville!
Tis the season for fishing all along the Detroit River and while I'm not a fisherman I say have at it however; while on my bike ride earlier today up and down the entire stretch of riverfront from the Ambassador Bridge to Hiram Walkers and back again I couldn't help but be struck by the amount of disgarded waste lying on the ground lining the shoreline!
It isn't like there isn't a crap load of public garbage bins all along the pathway but seeing paper, containers and empty plastic water bottles strewn all over (easily blown into the river) is ridiculous! Have the decency to throw out your waste when you've finished or as you go!!!
I won't pick out the groups of people but since I saw a Ministry official wandering around (I assume checking for licences) maybe it would be a good idea to have some of Windsor's finest ticket some of these individuals to send a message!
We have a great waterfront...LOOK AFTER IT! If you're going to be a slob...STAY HOME!
Spotted today May 18th. To the wonderful staff who gave us free ice cream at the twisty treat on Wyandotte in Riverside just because we came back in 15 mins so they could get set up. What a nice surprise!!!! You will have my business all summer!! Thank you and you have been spotted!!!
Yesterday at around 11:30pm near Herman Highschool my neighbours dog unfortunately got free of their back yard and ran towards Bernadd road. A women blew the stop sign, ending up hitting the dog almost hitting the owner who was inches away from catching her dog. The dog died moments after and the owner was deviated. It's a sad circumstance either way!! I'm positive that women didn't mean to hit and subsequently kill the dog but it's also a matter of NOT stopping at the sign! People the signs are there for a reason!! Use them, stop for 5 seconds and proceed on. It could very likely been a person walking home or someone on a bike. 5 seconds to properly stop could have been the difference for this family who lost their dog :( My condolences to them and to everyone reading this please be mindful and cautious while driving!!! Obey the law "stop" at the signs!! This neighborhood has two schools on this street!
Moe at the source @devonshire. Upgrading phones usually causes me anxiety but with Moe, he made it easy! The customer service was fantastic. We not only walked out with our new phones but he gave us the most amazing deals! A big thank you to the district manager as well, who drove to the kingsville store and picked up a phone and brought it to devonshire for me, since they didnt have one in stock. I was shocked that someone would go as far as you did on a sunday of a long weekend just to made sure we were satisfied. You have been spotted, signed a customer for life.
I just wanted to give a shout out to SOME of the Windsor Regional Hospital staff. I woke up around 4am Sunday Morning with some intense pain in my back, which became unbearable (I suffer from kidney stones) so I decided to go to the hospital. By the time I got there I was crying and couldn't sit still, but I waited my turn for the triage nurse, as she was with some one. After a few minutes she had asked me if I could quiet down. And I told her , I have kidney stones and if I could quiet down, I would have. She was so rude about it and after she was done with that patient she left, and I had to wait some more for someone else to come. I understand your job is stressful, but I cannot even believe how uncompassionate and rude you were. Also , my first nurse was very rude as well. Needless to say, I pretty much passed my stone before receiving any pain relief from them. I would never treat any patient who is obviously in so much pain that way. This is a part of your job, so if you can't handle it, maybe you should find a different one. The doctor however was very nice and genuinely caring.
Last night our beloved family dog Milo went missing. All through the night and day today we have met so many wonderful strangers who have shared our online posts via Twitter, FAcebook or Instagram and have sent us texts and messages of love and encouragement and support. Milo was found by a man in the train yard at Janette and Tecumseh far from where he bolted last night on Drouillard road. He is home safe and sound after a thorough check up at the walker road animal hospital ( who's staff went above and beyond the call of duty for us and Milo!). He's exhausted and his feet are in rough shape but he's on antibiotics and pain meds and is on the mend. Thank you so so much to all who joined in our search. Our hearts are bursting with thanksgiving! We will be sure pass on each of the kindnesses offered so freely to us, to others. Much much love- Milo and his family :)
