Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
There is a woman driving around in a black cavalier asking for gas money. Her story is that she is from Essex visiting her sick mom but she forgot her purse at home and is running out of gas and won't be able to make it home.
Seems legit.... My husband and I fell for it TWO YEARS AGO when she approached us on our front porch in a different neighbourhood. She is driving the same car, and is telling the exact same story. I thought she looked familiar when she got out of her car and then I knew why.
Just a heads up Windsor. This is wrong and there are other ways to get help even if she needed it.
My little girl had the most wonderful RAK at the strawberry fest last night. We waited for about 5 ish minutes to play the water gun game. A few kids came and we were about to play. A young lady maybe late teens/ early 20s came over to play to throw the kids up to the next prize level. The lady won and then turned to my daughter and "pick your prize honey, I saw you waiting for a long time to play" and walked away. I hope this lady, where ever she is, knows that she made the night of my 5 year old. & lt;3
I know this is a long shot but my 6 year old granddaughter lost her diamond earing in the vicinity of Talbot Trail ( Walkergate Estates) It is a white gold hoop with diamonds. If by any small miracle that it was found can you please contact me.It's also sentimental to me as we bought them for her.
Thank you to Mr. Lewis, who is a supply support staff, as well as an auxiliary police officer. He took time out of his day to visit the kindergarten class at Dr. David Suzuki Public School to surprise the students. He has worked in our classroom with our students previously and surprised them with this visit. The children were talking about it for the remainder of the day with huge smiles. Thank you!!!

My friend and I have been trying out different cuisines for lunch. We happened upon a new little restaurant located in between Howard and Ouellette Avenue on Tecumseh road, Eddy's Mediterranean Bistro. The food is excellent and the service was amazing. They are open 10am - 9pm every day. I recommend trying them out!
420 Tecumseh Road East
I've been seeing this more and more, and it's really disturbing: Windsor drivers ignoring red lights at intersections. Sometimes they'll pause and then go if they think they can get away with it. Other times they'll just blow through, especially if they were racing a yellow light. Either way, it's illegal. And inherently dangerous.
When did these drivers get it into their heads that red lights are optional? Red means stop. It does not mean "Eh, maybe I'll stop, maybe I won't."
Most recently, Tuesday night around 10 pm at the intersection of Ouellette Avenue and Tecumseh Road. The northbound lanes had a red light. A northbound SUV approached, paused, and then just kept going. There was traffic coming from all directions. The driver didn't seem to give a damn. Even did it casually. As if red lights didn't matter.
Talk about terrible habits at the wheel. Selfish, sloppy, dangerous driving.
