My fiance and I are in town this weekend for a wedding. We were on our way back to our hotel after getting a late dinner. We were stopped at the corner of Ouelette and Tecumseh, next to the Xray and Ultrasound building. We were making a right at this corner. Turn signal on. We were about four cars from the light. Traffic began to move, so I advanced forward. At the corner were three teens, one had begun crossing against the red stop hand signal. So I braked to avoid hitting him. There was a semi truck with a white trailer behind us. He hit us. Left side, rear bumper torn off. After the kid moved I continued the turn, pulled into the medical centers parking lot. The truck went through the light, stopped, for about a minute, minute and a half. We were expecting to meet this person to exchange info but he then drove away. Kids, also left. We have reported the accident but without plate numbers or memorable markings on the side of the truck to give to the police, we're up a creek, especially where insurance is involved. So we are asking for anyone who witnessed this accident, to please cone forward with info, if you seen the trucks plate numbers or markings on the truck, that would be sooooo helpful. The accident occurred around 11:20 - 11:30 ish.

I have a 14 year old daughter with special needs. She uses a wheelchair for mobility and we have lifts in our house to get her around from her bedroom upstairs to our downstairs level. Last week her chairlift stopped working. I had a tech from Motion Specialties come out to fix it thinking it was just the battery that died. He found out that her chairlift needed a new circuit board and the quote I got for the repairs was going to be about $750. We had recently been cut off our daughter's disability benefits and we don't have that kind of money for repairs that used to be covered by her benefits. This past week has been very challenging for us. I have a bad back and with my daughter being almost my size I can't move her around myself. My husband leaves for work at 4:30am every day and this past week he has had to wake my daughter up at 4am to carry her downstairs for the day. In order to get the lift repaired we had to come up with the money first. Knowing our desperate situation my mom paid with her credit card, even though she can't really afford it since my dad passed away last year. I was going to pay her back a little at a time but it would take me a while. This was a sudden and unexpected large expense for something we can't do without.
Today I got a call from Motion Specialties. Jessica is the girl I spoke with and she told me she had some good news. What she told me next blew me away and I immediately became too choked up to even speak at first. An "anonymous" gentleman offered to pay for the repairs to her chairlift. While he was having repairs done at his house he asked if they (Motion Specialties) ever came across families that could not afford the repairs and he was told my daughter's situation. He told them to tell me not to worry, he would pay for the repairs. I still can't wrap my head around the fact that a stranger would step forward to help out with such a large cost of a repair for a family he doesn't know. I was in tears, grateful doesn't even begin to describe how I feel. This past week has been so stressful and I have felt so bad for my daughter having to be woken up at 4am to be carried downstairs (she's over 100lbs) by her dad. My husband has a very physically demanding job and he's been carrying her everywhere in the house after a long 12 hour workday.
I believe in miracles yet never expected one to come from someone we don't know. Whoever you are , Sir, we want to express our most heartfelt gratitude. You are an Angel and have restored my faith that there are still some good, caring people out there. Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart! My daughter Kalli would thank you also if she could speak.

At around 11am today a women in a red ford pick up F150 rear ended my husbands brand new black pick up and left the screen she would have front end damage ..this happened under EC ROW under pass going south down walker road anyone with information on her. or saw the accident would be great ..thanks ..

Did anyone spot the orange Ebike that hit my truck on Walker Road at Seminole around 4:20p.m. He rear ended me and said some not so kind words. While I was asking a witness for her number he drove off. So I got no number from the witness and the man road off.

my family was watching the planes flying before fireworks and I noticed a little boy cruising around in his motorized Windsor police car, when 2 motor cycle cops spotted him than one of them had to stop shake his hand have a long convo about his ride than another hand shake and off they went it just mademy day

I am a very frustrated mother and I am out of options. I am on the verge of almost having to quit my job. All because the school board can care less about my child.
I have two children, my son is in grade 1 and has some speech and motor skills delays which affects his learning levels.
This school has been beyond amazing, they have put in so much extra attention and work with him the improvement he has made is amazing. it's not just his workers that come in from children first but the staff themselves. they even have a plan for him next year so that he's getting extra help he needs.
A couple weeks ago I was forced to move as I separated from my fianc , which has been troubling enough for the kids. Now the school won't let us stay.
I understand that there's a out of district rule, but next year would be the same as this year where the kids go to daycare before and after school and bussed there and back. They have had great attendance and there are no issues getting them to school. My sons teacher has been trying to help me so much because he needs the support he's getting there, when he changes school he's going to be thrown into a grade 2 class with no one he knows, it's going to take them half the year to assess him and come up with a plan and then in the process I'm going to hear from the teachers how behind he is. I know he is!! And right now he has the support and plan in process for him.
The principle at the school is more then happy to have them stay but the board says because we arnt in district they can't get on the bus at daycare. Even though students from the same school are getting on and going to school, what is that!!!! This new school, has a daycare but it opens to late. So not only do my kids have to go through all these changes but I am going to be forced to quit my job because I will be 30-45 min late each day.
I'm sorry I'm a tax payer, and it doesn't matter what district school it goes toward it is still going to one.
And how dare the fact my kids arnt in district determine the help and education they get Expecially in a situation like this. so my son has to suffer because the school board doesn't care about a child's needs they just care where their tax dollar is going.
My son is finally improving being where he is, ask his teachers and all the staff at that school who are helping him. Now not only does he have to go through a family split he has to start at a new school and his whole improvement will be taking by a step back, ask any teacher and they will tell you.
I'm so frustrated and I wish people would stop caring about the dollar and start caring about kids needs. I'm not making a big deal just because I like the school they are at, this school is helping my son! I hope the board is happy that this mother is going to be out of work.
