Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
I want to THANK the non-union workers at the Superstore on Dougall...I have many views on unions and unfortunately I do not support many of them. With that being said, I went into the Superstore where I only saw 4 ladies on the main road busy chatting, I then proceeded to walk by the 'picketer's', I use quotations as they were not picketing for their 'right's' but rather busy talking in a 'close' heard with one another (same on the other entrance). I understand at this location there is limitations as there are other stores but if you are proud then be proud and support your cause do not make it look like you are having a ball 'not working'.
Needless to say, after getting what I needed which is only at Loblaws as its their brand (I kinda need to feed my baby to survive). I noticed one thing how well organized the place was...since the picketers have all ready stated (publicly none the less) that business hasn't dwindle SO I will say one thing...it's funny how well organized the place is with limited staff that is not paid 'said' wages, do not have 'said' right and not part of union; who are working for what 'little' they have in order to ensure that said busy business is able shop. Kudo's to you for all the patience you have with not only the general public on a daily basis before, during and after this chaos. Kudo's for you to deal with animosity that is in your environment daily bc you are not part of a union, Kudo's to you who have to have such lower wages, lower hours and many other things because other people in a union (which is not necessary in such an industry) as ruined it for you...the 'real' workers have prevailed, the ones who do what they have to survive, the ones that are working with the 'LABOUR LAW' that once was fought for and now is not worthy of many people because we feel entitled to more.
Thank you to the forgotten workers who do work under what 90% of society does and make it successful!
A week ago, I was delighted to see that the small park at Riverside and Cameron has been tidied up completely! This park has always been neglected, except for a nice young man I saw cleaning it last summer. I feel happy that I decided to do a little garbage picking up there on a whim about two months ago. I filled one medium sized bag. Whoever did this must have filled several large garbage bags not to mention all the clippings.
Based on what I've read, this park is not under city jurisdiction which is why garbage placed near its waste baskets isn't collected. Did the neighbourhood all pitch in? Or did the city finally change their standpoint on the park? Either way, well done! And thank you so much! It looks like a place I'd sit and knit in.
Upon pulling into the Walmart parking lot on Tecumseh Road I noticed a closer spot to park with my two 1.5 year old daughters. Unfortunately as I got closer I realized being a father, I wasn't welcome in this spot. This was quite upsetting, especially since Walmart is one of few stores that actually have double shopping carts for my kids to sit in.

On July 8th 2015 – next Wednesday – pre-trial will begin for the accused murderer of Cassandra Kaake. We will be across the street from the Ontario Court of Justice at 11:00 am (200 Chatham St. E.), on the north side of Charles Clark Square, We will be there in protest of the fact that Molly's life is not represented in the charges against the accused. If you have not already signed the written petition we will have copies of them available. Or, if you too would like to voice your disgust for the utter lack of justice our country has to offer to its most violent and twisted criminals make your presence felt, please feel free to come out to support us and join us in helping little Mollys voice be heard. We will be there either way. Do you recognize this injustice? This is your country and your laws. Are they sufficient?
Watch for us we will be wearing Molly Matters T shirts.
To the man who, for the second time now, has walked between myself and my neighbor's house on Oak.. letting his dog do his business in OUR backyards, kicking and cursing at your dog when he doesn't listen to you, and not picking up your dog's poo when he's finished..
We saw you. And heard you, both times. Next time we see you, we will warn you that you are trespassing. After that, we will call the cops. Not only what you're doing is despicable, but it is illegal. We love this neighborhood and refuse to let it be abused by someone like you.

I had to take a cab this evening, and not only did I have to wait a while AFTER I had gotten the automated phone call saying my taxi had arrived, but soon after the driver picked me up and we were on our way, he got a phone call, and had that phone glued to his ear from the minute he left my place (Lauzon and McHugh), to the minute we got to our destination (Walker and Ottawa). I did call Vets Taxi to report this to the manager (left a message, as the manager wasn't there), I also called the non emergency line of the police, and WILL be reporting cab #13 to 311 first thing tomorrow!
