Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
Im in the search for my biological grandmother. Her last known residence was in Windsor. Her name is Joanne Carter, not sure if her last name has changed due to marriage. She gave birth to my father on July 18, 1975 in hotel dieu hospital. His fathers name is Alexander Menzies. Joanne is Italian, small build blonde hair and was in her 20's when my father was born. If you have any information please comment.
I just wanted to thank the young woman again who was working cash at the Tim Hortons in Tecumseh mall. Your kindness and generosity was truly appreciated and will not be forgotten.
A shout out to 2 very sweet girls at Malden park. My car wouldn't start and without hesitation they approached my car window and offered to help.
Keep doing you. I was fortunate enough that I lived close by, but another person may have needed the very help you offered. You would've lightened their burden.
May the positive energy you put
out today return to you many folds.
Who do I call to report an injured Canadian Goose? It has a badly hurt wing, I'm hoping someone can come out and get it.
He is a brown tabby, friendly, with a black collar with silver coloured studs and a rabies tag. lives on Cottage place in little River acres area so I expect he is nearby but perhaps doesn't know his way home. Have you seen him? Please text 519-996-5431 missing since Wednesday night. We really want him home.
Today I was delightfully surprised when I went to pay my bill at my favourite breakfast restaurant, "Marija's" on the corner of Wyandotte & Moy, while paying the owner informed me that someone, a totally awesome stranger, had contributed $20 to the expense of our bill.
She let me know that a faithful patron of her establishment often would contribute to a bill of customers with small children at the table. I was very surprised and grateful for this kind gesture and imagined anyone else who received this gift felt as touched by this kindness as I was.
Dave you have been spotted!! Thank you!
Today my son who is 15 went to Walmart and was buying me chocolates and a sweater from Walmart for my birthday. When he picked out a sweat and chocolate he went to the cashier. The sweater rang up for more then he thought it would. He stated he thought it was cheaper and he must have got it off the wrong shelf. He only had a specific amount so the cashier told him no worries he can go pick something in his range. He came back with magazine and book he new I would like. When he went to the cashier she said that the lady behind him paid for the sweater he didn't have enough to pay for. He didn't understand and she had to explain it to him 2 more times because he was in shock. He came home smiling and said some random stranger bought half of my birthday gift and told me the story. You Miss are an amazing person and I really really hope you see this. He wants to thank you in person. #walmartbdaylady
Thank you to the woman on the Ottawa 4 today for having the courage to do what I hope I can someday.
When she observed a passenger making a woman uncomfortable, she assertively offered him another seat away from the woman, and checked in to make sure she was ok. You were amazing! Without escalating the situation or bringing attention to yourself, you were an active bystander. Thank you for setting such a great example - it was awesome to witness and meant a lot to me. Please keep doing what you're doing. High five!
