Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
On Friday October 23rd I had to go the police station to get a police clearance for my new job! I had my two year old daughter with me. My daughter was throwing a fit and misbehaving. I was starting to get very embarrassed and the people in the station were just staring. One police officer came over, maybe he noticed I was embarrassed and couldn't handle it. Friday was a very important day for me! I had stuff to do for my friend’s wedding the next day, I had a very important exam that evening at four and I was overwhelmed. The police officer came over and handed my two year old a Windsor police pin. I'm sure you didn't know I was overwhelmed, terrified, stressed, and didn't know if I could handle the situation. I was feeling like I could lose it at any moment in time and just start crying. You have been spotted for taking time out of your busy day to give her a moment in time. Even though I was embarrassed and overwhelmed I was so shocked to see you take the time to greet us.
So thank you a million times, thank you. I cannot thank you enough for what you did for me on that October day.
To the person who broke into my car while it was parked in the Met Hospital visitor lot sometime on Friday night/ early Saturday morning... you took my sister's purse and left it on the side of the road but took the computer that was inside... We are asking that you return the computer. The reason we were at the hospital is because we were visiting my aunt in her final day before she passed away after battling cancer for far too long. On the computer was all the pictures and videos we had left to remember her by and it is heartbreaking that they are no longer with us. Please, please, please return it. Drop it off to the security desk... say you found it on a bench outside, or in an alley, it doesn't matter- we won't come looking for you. It may be a piece of technology to you but to us it holds something that can never be replaced. We just pray that you will see this and understand how important the contents inside were to us.
Please.
We need help please - my son lost his cell phone around Optimist Park tonight - He was out in the playground area with his 2 year old daughter, in the building taking her to the washroom and out in the open area tossing a football with a buddy. It's not the loss of the phone that hurts so much.... it's all the pictures of his beautiful 2 year old daughter that he has now lost. He had video of when his 7 day old baby girl rolled over for the first time and her first steps and all the important moments of their lives together. Please help us find it! If you did find it please let us know. The most important thing in the phone is the memory card with all of these precious pictures. The phone is black. Right now it doesn't work as we have had it suspended. Please, Please contact us.
I just want to commend the girl in the drive thru for staying remarkably upbeat and calm all the while being berated by (from what I could tell) some woman that had obviously forgotten to take her medication for the day.
This is a "Good Sighting" & a 'Bad Sighting".
I've seen my shared of crazy people, but it's been awhile since I've seen someone completely go full pyscho on what appeared to be the cashiers inability to customize and re price this person's order - basically trying to haggle the price.
Wanting for the manager, holding everyone up that was in the drive thru, but I'm sure she doesn't care about others that often ;)
Upset about how she was treated as a customer, but had no issue screaming and yelling at the cashier - that will definitely get your food quicker.
Would have taken a picture, but this lady was a special kinda crazy, The kind you don't really want to poke.
My daughter has been in the hospital since Saturday. It has been stressful and exhausting with our child in the hospital and a toddler at home. The nurses in the pediatric ward have been amazing with my child. Altho in isolation a magician put on protective clothing and put on a show for my daughter and ventriloquist gave her a small show outside her room as she watched in the window. I have to say our pediatric ward goes above and beyond for the sick children on this floor and I want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for not only being amazing to my child but to all the children on this floor.
A very thankful mom.
This is a shout out to the girl with the blue scarf who helped us last night(Oct 25th) while dealing with a seizure patient at the corner of Ouellette and University. Either you are already in a medical profession or you should strongly consider it :) Your immediate attention towards this patient until our arrival, and your initiative to help while we were on scene was OUTSTANDING!
This is the first time I've ever recognized someone in the community for their display of selflessness and true compassion.
So to whoever you are I hope this sincere THANK YOU does find its way to you...
Your extra set of hands were of more help than you can imagine.
Sincerely, A thankful medic :)
Found at Wyandotte E and Belleperche, a darling shitzu with rabies tags from waterloo vet. Calm and cuddly. He's white and light brown. Humane society was called!
PLEASE SHARE!!! So we found this little guy playing in traffic on Tecumseh road. We wish we could have kept him, but with my big dog we were unable to take him in. We notified the humane society and he has been picked up. Please share so we can find this amazing dog's home. Very friendly, and loving dog.
