Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
I don't usually vent on FB however, I am disheartened tonight to find out someone took our rocks from my parents tree and gravesite. These rocks were special as they all came from Salmonier Newfoundland,my dads home. My sister Dar and I spent time painting these with there names on it and each of the grandchildren. We placed them on the gravesite on my moms anniversary,Aug 6 this year. To think someone is that cruel and unkind of the dead is the lowest kind of human being. I am hoping I am wrong and they show back up. I have contacted the cemetery however I know this isn't the first time as I have had 3 small Christmas trees taken and I've read others have lost stuff. I put this out in hopes of shaming whoever took these as you see they are unique.
This is my 3rd year running the Detroit Marathon and this is the 3rd year I've seen the same dancing banana out front of Tim Hortons. She smiles and cheers everyone on and I look forward to seeing her every time. Banana lady thank you for making so many people smile. See you next year!
Today our 2 dogs escaped from our yard, a service guy had left our gate opened, not his fault we shouldve checked before we let them out. Our little dog Angus was caught quickly, and kept safe by a young couple, our big dog Lucy kept running. The boyfriend kept chasing Lucy. She ran up to wyandotte where police saw her and blocked the road, so she wouldnt be hit, and she kept running. The police blocked riverside and the officer caught her at the casino. The young man caught up to her and brought her back to his place where our little dog was. My boyfriend saw the girlfriend that had our Angus, and she told him her boyfriend was bringing Lucy back. This has the happiest ending. Both dogs are ok, a little shaken, and Lucy cut her paws but she is ok.I CANT THANK THIS YOUNG COUPLE AND WINDSOR POLICE ENOUGH FOR SAVING OUR POOCHES! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
While driving down front rd towards the express way I witness a man get out of his truck and offer his shoes(right off his feet) to an individual walking down the street who appeared to be homeless with nothing but socks on his feet.
Gestures like this restore your faith in the human race
Today I was out with my grandmother. She's 85 and struggles with walking. She usually uses a walker, but because she lives out of town, she only had her cane on her today. We were sitting at a table at the Starbucks and had to leave. He saw me holding a coffee and two purses on one arm, with my grandmother holding onto my other arm as we were approaching the doors. I was going to use the wheelchair button to open the door, but this kind young man left his place waiting for his drink to open both sets of doors for us to exit.
Thank you for your kind act. Please know you've been acknowledged and appreciated.
To the person who returned my phone that fell out of my purse at the Great Canadian Superstore this afternoon, October 19th THANK YOU SO MUCH !
