Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
My son was purposely beat up and run over by a car Halloween night trying to be a good Samaritan. He is suffering in pain now and lucky to be alive. Some one out there needs to speak up and let police hnow who did this to him. You cant carry information for the rest of your life and think karma won't come back on you. I am asking anyone who has any information to just call crime stopper anonymously. They just want a name. Please if it was your child or your brother you would do the right think.
The ceremony downtown Windsor was beautiful today. The people, the military, the Police the firefighters the elementary students and most importantly the veterans!
The ONLY thing I'd like to point out and have our local organizers (whomever they may be) consider for next year. Please ask a local musician to perform. First of all they will be more than happy to do it. Secondly, why on earth would we pay for one from the USA to come here when Windsor is packed full of talented musicians?
I would like to take a moment to Thank the STC Construction Group Employees who were working on St. Anne's street in Tecumseh yesterday November 6th, 2015. I'm not sure how many people saw you during my Husbands Grandfather Roland St. Pierre's funeral procession, but for those that did...Thank you for pausing your work to provide a moment of silence and honour to our family as we drove by. The men outside took off their hard hats and layed them on their hearts until the funeral procession ended. A beautiful moment that was appreciated and noticed with grateful hearts.
I had one of these guys knock at my door wanting to replace my water meter.I live in the subdivison off of Mchugh. He said I was due for a new one at no cost. Seems odd considering I have a new home and my meter is only a few years old. I did some asking around only to find out that they are doing the entire city just to save cost enwin. My meter worked fine and they want to replace it? Unlike the "smart" hydro meters these meters are not being installed because of an ontario by-law. That means its up to the home owner whether they would like them installed or not. Basically by allowing neptune or enwin to install these meters your driving up their profits and giving into possible job loss for the contractors who come around and read these meters every month. Just what we need, more job losses in the city right? Oh and don't think I buy the " no cost to you" bs line. When was the last time enwin gave away something for free to the customer? I'm keeping my old meter that works just fine. I hope some of you will do the same.
To the very kind man that just paid for my groceries at the Box No Frills on Wyandotte and George about 30 min ago, I just wanted to say Thank You again! It is nice to see the random kindness of people. You made my day! :)
At around 1230 today my son and I were in the freshco parking lot looking for a spot when a man backed out of his spot. . Not looking and hit the back of my van. I got out and instantly told him I was worried because of my sweet 2 year old was in the back. He then proceeded to tell me that I was in the wrong and should have been looking where I was driving and that my van was fine. Well the last thing I was worried about was my car. As him and his wife are blaming me I opened the back van to care for my son, who was completely shaken up and scared. I tried to console him as this couple who hit me could have cared less. He told me the van was fine and my kid was fine when clearly he was not. So now my son and I are bawling due to unsympathetic and rude people. Where out of nowhere a woman and an elderly man came up and consoled the both of us. She rubbed my shoulder and told me she completely understood where I was coming from because she herself had children. Her and my son talked about monster trucks and she really helped calm us both down. I just wanted to say thank you! Thank you for coming over, thank you for rubbing my shoulder and getting my son's mind off of what had just taken place. I was feeling very alone while being blamed for something I did not do and you came to my rescue. I thank you for that and so does my son!!! Tyvm
Ryan at the Fantastic Sams on Malden in LaSalle gave my 11 year old his favourite haircut ever. He took the time to discuss different options, and spent a lot of time getting the cut just right. He then showed my son several ways to style his new hairstyle. This "cool" young man really seems to take pride in a job well done. Customer service at its finest. For going above and beyond, Ryan, you have been spotted!

I just wanted to say thank you and I love all your classes it's always a good workout with hurricane. Keep up the great work and know that your work is very much appreciated!!
