Respect

On my way back to work at lunch today I was behind a funeral procession. Although I wasn't part of it, it was so touching to see the cars and transport trucks alike pulled over to the side of the road to let the procession pass. It's nice to see that still happens.

In a hurry?

To the woman in the black cadalliac suv at matchette and reaume at 2:50 pm Friday. You were at the 4 way stop behind the school bus you were clearly impatient as I was not only at the stop sign before you but when I allowed the children to cross the street you flew through the intersection startling the children. If you are in such a hurry to get ahead of me fine, but don't put children's life in danger because you have something to do

Dog running wild

We live in the Lloyd George/ Queen Elizabeth area. There are quite a few stray cats in our area...including kittens. A few of the neighbours...including us, help out these poor strays by feeding them. Some of these cats have been in this neighbourhood for years. They have names...and are quite friendly. About a month ago, we started seeing this husky dog in our neighbourhood. The dog is tagged and collared. Then we started to notice cats were missing....including two kittens. The mother cat has been frantic looking for them. Imagine my husbands horror to pull up in our driveway and see the dog on our front lawn...with a mauled dead kitten...her name was Ginger. So, whoever owns this dog I just want to let you know what your dog has been up to. My husband and I were very tramatized by this....we buried her in our backyard. We don't blame the dog....we blame the owner. Please do not let your dog run wild.

Timis n Pay it Forward

Merry Christmas to the person who started the pay it forward train at the Tim Hortons on Ottawa St at 2 o'clock or just before. I was the third person who had it done to them in the drive thru as I was told. My order was 21.74 not the average persons order because I bought a $20 gift card for my daughter's school teacher. I thought only the coffee was paid for but nope the whole thing :) I love doing pay it forwards so with my 20 dollar bill in hand I gave it to the worker and said keep it going :) It feels good enough to do it to someone else but to have it done to you feels amazing....Cheers all and Merry Christmas P.S. I hope the person ahead of me reads this to find out they touched more than one person. :)

Justice for Justice!!!!

The Windsor/ Essex County Humane Society is seeking information from the public about a serious case of animal cruelty. On Thursday, December 17 a Windsor man was walking his two dogs beside the Canadian Tire on Walker Road when they discovered a small dog lying in the grass. When our officers responded they found the dog's muzzle, paws, and neck tightly bound with electrical tape. The dog was unable to move, having difficulty breathing, and his mouth and paws were extremely swollen. He was immediately rushed to a veterinarian for care.
The dog, now named Justice, would likely not have survived more than a few more hours had he not been found. Even after the tape was removed, he was initially unable to stand, and his mouth remains swollen. Fortunately, because he was rescued in time, veterinarians expect him to eventually make a full recovery.
Justice is a several year old unneutered male dog. He is a small breed dog with a cropped tail, weighing only approximately 13 pounds. He had a pre-existing dental and mouth issue that would have caused him to have foul breath for some time. It is believed that he was dumped late Wednesday evening or early Thursday morning. Anyone with information about who may have neglected, tortured, and abandoned Justice is asked to call the Windsor/ Essex County Humane Society cruelty investigations department at 519-966-5751, ext 16 or Crimestoppers at 519-258-8477. You are not required to provide your name to make a report, and you may be eligible for a reward through Crimestoppers.
Donations towards Justice's care may be made online at http:/ / windsorhumane.org/ donate-now-2/
