Water Bottles for Flint

I wanted to spot Nathan Sellon with the Windsor Spitfires for collecting water bottles for the people in Flint, Michigan.

I have known Nathan when I attended Lambton College in Sarnia, Ontario and he was always a great guy with a big heart. I just want to recognize him for his Random Act of Kindness.

Once again, thank you to the Windsor Spitfires and every member of the Windsor community. Keep up the great work! :). I enjoy reading your awesome spotted stories.

If anyone wants to donate water, please donate at the WFCU.

From a former Lambton College student

There is a school aged boy , I'd say around 10-12 years old who is constantly asking people for money so "he can take the bus home" . He has approached me or my husband several times in the Freshco, Dollarama plaza on Howard and Tecumseh. ... should police be notified that he's always asking for money? I mean, if he takes the bus, shouldn't he know how much to carry with him, or have a student card ??!!!

Faith in Humanity

Today after leaving City Hall around noon, I decided to walk down Park St to Ouellette (normally I would walk down Windsor Ave to Wyandotte, then over to Ouellette). As I was walking I watched a gentleman in a wheelchair go over the curb and fall out of his chair. Thankfully there was a group of women who were close to him who immediately stopped to help him. Another woman, a gentleman and myself got to him as fast as we could. Thankfully another couple of men showed up and helped get the gentleman back into his chair. To the group of women who were by him when he fell, you ladies were amazing, you were so genuine and kind to him. You kept making sure he was okay, asking if he needed a min before we did anything, making sure the cuts on his hands were taken care of. To the men who ran over to help us get him back into his chair, thank you, I don't think we would have been able to do it safely without your help. Finally to the gentleman who fell, I hope you are okay and that your hands aren't to badly cut up, and that nothing worse happened when you fell. Thank you all for restoring my faith in humanity, you have all been Spotted!

MISSING! Brown Tabby Cat

This cat is about seven years old. He's an indoor/ outdoor cat, and as much as we've tried to keep him indoors... He was born outdoors and loves to be out there. His right ear is slightly mangled and his left eye is often half-lidded. He's a scruffy fighter. He's neutered. May respond to 'Kitty' or 'Yappers'. Will definitely respond to tongue clicking. Amicable towards humans, not so much towards other animals. Last seen Saturday afternoon of January 16th. He has 'disappeared' before in the past for days at a time, however he has been staying at home more often lately. I believe it is due to age. That's why I'm worried now. We've already called the Humane Society and there were no cats fitting his description. (He looks really pissed in his picture, but he's really friendly!) I miss my little buddy and I am going through some things and would love to have him home to cuddle with me! Please, any information would be awesome!

5 Stars, Every Time, PetValu LaSalle

Our son turned 5 today and on the weekend, he received a fish tank as a gift and 3 fish--his first pets. The staff at Pet Valu in LaSalle made a big deal of it for him, but privately warned us how fickle fish can be, especially at first. I nearly cried watching how excited he was to feed them, calling them by their names. We noticed, however, that one didn't look so well. After a few hours, the fish did not survive...and our son sobbed and sobbed, saying he was the saddest he had ever been. I was very sad, too, but tried to make him feel better. He was convinced that the fish died of loneliness because the other two fish didn't swim with him, and that he needed another fish like him. We convinced him that we would get two new fish, and he seemed to settle. When my husband and I went to the store today, the lady scooped out two fish for us, but accidentally scooped three and said that it was a bonus. When I went to pay, she waved us away. I love this store! My son has been visiting there for 2 years, looking at the animals and we have never purchased anything before this tank. I always felt guilty--and now even when I want to pay, they wouldn't let me. I wish I could thank them for the kindness they have showered on us each and every time we visit. We are customers for life. The joy that that "bonus" fish brought when our son got off the bus today was magical--he was thrilled to see all 5 fish swimming together. Thank you, PetValu ladies, for restoring his spirit, and ours. There are more good people out there than bad--I pray blessing is poured out upon you all.
