Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
Armando's on walker road! My husband and I were waiting for our dinner when he looked at me and said, I'm going to pass out! Being type 1 diabetic this happens when his sugar levels drop! He was very ill sweating shaking etc. The manager came over had girls bring soda glass after glass! A man sitting with his young family came over to assist as well! My husband just wanted to go home but was way to weak to even walk to our car!! This man, who turns out to be the managers cousin put his arm around my husband and walked us to our car telling me his friend is also type 1 ! It's very humiliating for anyone to have to be walked out of a pack restaurant like that! But the management and her cousin was nothing short of professional and caring I thank you from the bottom of our hearts!! As I was driving away she came out with our food we ordered and said please take this home on us so he can eat something when he feels better!! Classy act!! You have been spotted!!!
was on the 1A two days ago Jan 22) at about 6:15 with my husband. As we passed Firestone on Ouelette, I saw a little girl run into traffic. Our bus driver pulled over, and proceeded to chase this fast little girl halfway up the block, in oncoming traffic. He brought her back to the bus, all smiles, skipping alongside him. When she entered the bus we saw she had no shoes, coat, and non-verbal communicative.Police were called, and mum was looking for her special little one. She was returned, thanks to the quick thinking and even quicker footed driver. Thank you, sir, as a mum of a high needs child, what you did for that family can never adequately be put into words. Wish I knew your name, I'd sing it in praises.
I just wanted to let our local business know about trip advisor! Have you ever taken the the time to read what people are saying about your restaurants? You may want to . Owners you can learn a lot and correct a lot of problems you may not be aware of. And people the next time your looking for a place to eat read on trip advisor . You will find out so much before spending your money there. or simply share your experience after dining out . Just thought I would share this.
I just want to take the time to spot my brother his wife and a few good friends of his. On January 10th they lost a close friend of theirs due to a tragic accident. My brother his wife and a few friends went above and beyond to help his family who live all the way in Nova Scotia by raising some money to be able to help them out financially to bring him back to Nova Scotia where he can be laid to rest also to help them with the cost of the funeral and with any extra proceeds to be used for his daughters education fund. During the time that my brother and his friends should be grieving they generously took the time to set up a gofundme account and to organize a huge fundraiser within a 2 week period. The love and respect that they all had for this friend of theirs shows so much through their actions and I know that his family appreciates what they are doing. I would also like to spot all the generous donations that they have received within the Windsor community...without any of them this fundraiser wouldn't be a success. So to my brother my sister in law and everyone else donating thier time and money you all have been spotted!!!
Spotted: Today around 7 P.M. my dog ran across the street for the first time (which is a highway). When I ran outside to catch him he was already half-way across the high-way and I started screaming his name thinking he was going to be immediately struck by a car.
I just want to give a huge thank-you to the person in the yellow car (I think it was a Ford Focus) who not only stopped as soon as they saw him, but for pulling over and into my driveway to make sure I got him inside.
I was in a panic and I didn't Thank-YOU! I'm not sure if they are from Windsor or not but I hope they see this
You have been spotted!!!!!!! Xo
To the wonderful and beautiful couple who found my money shortly after it fell out of my wallet, I need to thank you. I was so overwhelmed when I saw my money was missing (much more than I would ever carry) that I ran towards the bank when this nice man stopped me and asked if I dropped some money. I said I did and he said his wife had it and was standing inside the door. I thanked them both but I don't think I thanked them enough. The adrenaline was high that my thanking them just seemed simple...at least it did to me. So in case I never find these two wonderful people, I want to say thank you soo much. Your kindness and your honesty was in it's truest form. One came to seek for me while the other waited for my return. Truly wonderful.
On Friday (Jan 22) I was visiting the Starbucks at Devonshire mall. Friday's at the mall are always crazy and most of the staff here are kind and always smiling and get orders done with little or no problem. On this day I was in line and I noticed the girl at the register was having some trouble paying for her drink - looked like her card kept getting declined. Now I know this is a business and you have to pay for all items you want to receive, what was discouraging though was that the barista at the till was not helping calm this poor girl who was obviously panicking about the situation. She told the girl to call her bank and figure out her finances and come back to pay for what she wanted. I was shocked. After I got what I needed I was sitting at a table off to the side of their handoff area and saw the girl on the phone with, I'm assuming, her bank. The barista making drinks called the girl over and gave her the drink she wanted on the house after seeing how distressed she was! The girl explained that she was so embarrassed and this barista simply smiled and told her to not let this ruin her weekend and to have a better day. It was amazing to see the small act of kindness. Through sitting in the store for longer I came to discover that this barista isn't even from this store but another location in the city! How amazing that someone so kind is likely to randomly show up around Windsor at random Starbucks locations and bring a little light to someone's day wherever she may go. I never got this kind baristas name (I only know she was working there for the day and is originally from another location in Windsor) but I hope she knows how her small act of kindness inspired and restored my faith in humanity. I hope you see this, kind barista, because your generosity does not go unnoticed and you deserve to know that. Keep smiling.
Last night (Friday Jan 22, 2016) my family and I were celebrating my fathers birthday at Cramdon's. My son, being the picky eater that he is, will only eat pizza with green olives. Cramdon's did not have any in stock. I believe his name is Don (the owner), left the restaurant and went to the nearby bulk food store just to accommodate my son's want of green olives. I just wanted to thank the staff at Cramdon's for going over and beyond to make this night as enjoyable as possible.
Thank you,
Laura Epperson
