Our family cat has gotten out of the house.
Some time between late evening Saturday, January 23, 2016, and Sunday, January 24, 2016 our cat Hank got out of the house. He is a male, grey, short-haired cat that is approximately 1 1/ 2 - 2 yrs old. He has been neutered, chipped, and has all his claws. Hank is probably very scared because he has never been outside, but is generally very friendly. We live in the Riverside area, and hope someone has seen him and can help us get him back home. Our family missed him dearly, along with his two sisters, who he has been with since birth. Please spread so bring Hank back home!
This past Sunday, Jan 25th I had returned from Toronto with my 15 month old by train - the last train of the day, arriving at 11:20pm. It was cold, my daughter is HUGE for her age (26lbs, and not yet walking) and my husband had walked 40 minutes to meet me and help us and our things (diaper bag, stroller, etc) into a cab.
As many know, cabs are in short supply at the train station and by the time we made it to the cab stand, they were all full, mostly university students, single riders... I was exhausted from having her in my arms for 5 hours, my husband had worked all day and so we grudgingly joined the queue for the next car. A few people had noticed us struggling as I had called to cab drivers to "Please radio for more cars, there are lots of us!".
When a single woman went to take the next cab, a group of men, much further back in the line called to her, "C'mon, be nice, let the lady with the kid go!" Which was quickly echoed by people in the line "yeah", and "have a heart!". I called out a thank you to everyone as she very reluctantly gave us the cab.
It sounds silly, but as someone who routinely lets others in front of me at the grocery store, or waves a car through ahead of me at an intersection, it felt wonderful to be recognized as someone needing help. When I put my little girl down tonight, I realized I have to thank those random guys who stuck up for my family last night. You all warmed my heart that my daughter gets to grow up in a town where humanity is still alive and well. And to the lady who had to wait a few more minutes, I do appreciate you putting yourself out, and for us, it meant a LOT.
I was at the Health Science Building today and someone left their cellphone on one of the seats. If you see this your phone is at the security desk at St. Clair College.
Shout out to the white car in front of me at timmies!! Normally I'm the one paying it forward but this time you did for me I have to say it's a pretty awesome feeling someone else paying for it. I am posting this in the hopes that this specific woman will somehow see it. Tonight I was serving two tables at my work. One was a larger table and the other was an older man sitting by himself. One of the ladies from my bigger table paid for the older man's dinner, and unfortunately she left before I could tell her what he said to me. When I told him that someone had paid for his meal, he was so touched and couldn't believe it. He told me that he would "never forget this for a long time" and that he "knows there are good people out there". He then told me about how him and his wife used to go there to eat all the time, but she passed away from cancer a few years ago and he continues to go to the restaurant to relive it. I know this woman did this out of the goodness of her heart and not for recognition, but I really want her to know the impact it had on this man. So if you are reading this, you truly made him incredibly happy. You touched his heart and mine. Thank you!
My child went missing at Colasanti's today. He is just about 6, non verbal and lives on the autism spectrum. I panicked and couldn't even give staff a proper description but you guys located him within 5 minutes! Our family is so very thankful...thank and bless you all.
RAMBO IS STILL MISSING!!
This my mother's baby Rambo. My mother is a old age pensioner and missing her baby. Rambo is a solid grey Tonkinese with slightly darker ears. He is a 3 1/ 2 year old cantankerous boy and will not keep a collar on. He may or may not respond to his name depending on his mood. He is micro-chipped. He belongs in the Parent/ Lens area and has been missing since January 8th. If you have seen him or know where he is, or what may have happened to him we would really appreciate hearing from you.
