Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
My husband, daughter and I went out for breakfast at matter of taste restaurant this morning. After we had ordered our food, the waitress came over to tell us that the amazing and generous couple sitting at the table behind us had paid for our meal. My husband and I were shocked because neither of us has ever had anyone do this before. Just shows that there are some wonderful people in this world and they are living in windsor. Thank you so much for treating us to breakfast, you made our day!!!
This morning at Goyeau and Wyandotte, I was pulling out of a parking lot and saw a blind man hesitating in the middle of the road. Immediately, this young man hurried out to him, asked if he could help, and patiently escorted him safely across the street. Nicely done. I used to take this sort of thing for granted - anyone would do this - but I've learned that it's worth emphasising and drawing attention to the small kindnesses we extend one another, because not everyone seems to get it!
PAUL DUFOUR
I havent known my father since I was 3. The last memory I have of him is, him tying my shoes together and letting me run around the house. We could see each other on the street and make direct eye contact and I still wouldn't recognize him. I'm 17 years old now and it bugs me every night why he isn't here, why did he leave me and never talk to me again or why don't I have somewhat of a relationship with my dad..every son deserves a relationship with their father . If you can help me please do, his name is PAUL DUFOUR and I'm pretty sure he still lives in Windsor or surrounding area. Again any help is appreciated thank you so !much
Tonight my husband and I went to La Rucola for dinner because due to working we have not been able to spend much time together. We were greeted by our waiter and given suggestions on what to try. Once we ordered he kept coming back to ask us how our wine, appetizer and entrees were. This was a night we both needed to spend quality time together. At the end of the night when we were paying our bill he asked if we like comedians. We responded yes and that we looked into Tracy Morgan at the casino tonight. He preceeded to tell us he had two tickets he wasn't using because his father got ill. He offered them to us and did not think twice about asking for anything in return. Thank you Kyle for allowing me and my husband to have a night out when we don't always have the time to. Thank you for being a kind person and I will be sure to pay your kindness forward.
I was in a bit of a bind today early saturday feb 6th and needed help. There was no one I could call and all places were already closed or never opened. I walked up to the Zehrs customer service in Lasalle Ontario and explained my situation. Al came out and helped me with a cheerful smile
Thank you very much for your help
Yesterday afternoon I was dropping my husband off where he is a volunteer music teacher on Drouillard Road when we saw that a friend of his had a mishap with his wheelchair and was on the sidewalk unable to get back in his chair. Before I could stop the car so my husband could get out and help, an employee driving a Pronto Plumbing van put his four-ways on and ran across the street to assist. This gentleman helped my husband get his friend back in to the wheelchair and made sure he was okay. Thankfully no one was hurt and our friend was able to continue on with his evening.
I called the company last night to let them know what a fine employee they have working for them, and to ensure he got some recognition. I wasn't able to get his name, but was able to jot down the license and the company. The owner called me back and told me that while he is proud of his employee for stepping up, he would expect that of all the people in the company - it should be the human response.
We often hear about people passing by or not noticing when someone is in need, it is nice to see people in our community still do the right thing - as the owner of the company put it - "the human thing".
Bravo to Pronto Plumbing, and the gentleman who stopped to help. You have been spotted.
I know that if I need plumbing work done in the future, yours will be the first company I call.

While I was at the court house today my iPhone must have fallen out of my coat pocket. I noticed 10 minutes later, went back to the bench i was sitting at and it was gone and turned off.
Please if you see this and you have it PLEASE TURN IT INTO THE POLICE STATION OR THE COURTHOUSE (both have alternative contact numbers for me). I don't want to press charges or anything, I just need it back!! I rely on it for work and I have a lot of family photos on it that mean a lot to me.
It is a white iphone 5s with a silver and purple cheetah print cover.
