Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
On Friday December 27th at about 8:05 a.m. I was heading to Sarnia for work. I was leaving Windsor, one of the streets I took to head out to the 401 was South Service Road. When I almost got to the end I noticed there was a car in the ditch and someone was in it. I turned around, put my hazard lights on and stop in the lane closest to the car in the ditch. Moments after I stopped, there was a jeep that pulled up on the side of the road with his hazards on. While we were working to get the car out of the ditch, some guy stopped behind my car and started honking. When there was no traffic I waved him to come around my car. Instead of asking if everything is okay or even trying to help, he decides to yell and being a jackass about my car stopped in the middle of the lane with the hazards on. So I say to you, the reason for my hazard lights was for drivers like you who would have whipped around the bend and possibly hit one of us, it's called safety. Just so you know the person in the car is okay. The older gentleman who helped push the car out is okay and I did not ruin my suit. I am so sorry that you had to wait about 15 seconds for me to wave you around my car, I hope wherever you were going was super important.

I'd just like to say thank you so much to the woman today (December 24th) that tipped me $10.00 at Dollar Tree. I'm extremely thankful for what you did and it's friendly customers like you (not just because of the money) that keep me working there. So once again thank you, have a merry Christmas and hope to see you again
While on my 3rd trip out for the day I was at Feshco in LaSalle picking up yet a couple more things. I noticed the closed Express lane open and caught the attention of the lady ahead of me with only a few items and said, he is open again. She went in front of me and then proceeded to pay for my 2 items. She mentioned she had just read on facebook about people paying it forward and wanted to try it. Well as a mom of 4 kids, frazzled tired and ready to be done with Christmas I was in tears over such a kind gesture. I promise I will find a way over the next couple of days to do the same for someone. I hope her baking went well and that she has the best Christmas Ever!
To all the Canadian Border Crossing officers at the tunnel who were there at about 1:30 or so on Dec.21 especially Matt THANK YOU SO MUCH. I was returning from Detroit when Matt the officer at the booth noticed that I was in pain and had me just pull up a foot or so and put my car in park. He came out of the booth asked a couple of questions about my health and called for an ambulance. He was so genuinely caring and stayed by me holding my hand, making sure I was warm enough and talking to me until the ambulance came. All of the other officers who were there were also so helpful - getting in touch with a family member to let them know what had happened, making sure all my belongings were taken care of, etc. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH.
To all the people who had to wait in line because they closed the booths until I could be taken care of I thank you too.
Today December 18th around 8:20am I was waiting on the road in a long drive thru line. There were other cars waiting their turn coming from the opposite direction. (If know this Tims well, you know what I’m talking about), this car (a silver dodge journey) was waiting and waiting and nobody but would let her in because you know everyone’s in a rush to go nowhere. So, when it became my turn to pull into the drive way next, I stopped and let this car in. She waved and said thank you. I pull up to the window and the lady had paid for my order which was a small iced cap. When she pulled away, we went opposite directions and I wanted to say thank you. So thank you to the lady in the silver dodge Journey at the Tim Horton’s on Ottawa today around 8:20am
On December 8th a fundraiser was held for my grandson Elijah Lewis, to help his family with their ongoing expenses. He is 5.5 months old and is a heart warrior! He was born with 4 Congenital Heart defects and on November 19th he underwent his 2nd heart surgery (open heart). The fundraiser was a success and will help Elijah, his twin brother, his 4 yr old brother and his parents immensly.
We would like to thank the amazing businesses and individuals who donated their time and/ or door prizes/ auction prizes.

To the 3 men that stopped and helped me after I was struck by a car tonight at the corner of Eugenie and Macdougall, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I was very scared by the man that hit me and you made me feel safe until the police arrived. I wish you all the best and wished I could thank you in person. Also, to the man in the truck that drove a stranger (my husband) to the scene of the accident so he could be with his wife, thank you so much for being such a great samaritan and bringing my husband to me.
