Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
To the smart person who cut off the bus on riverside drive! These buses carry precious cargo! Please think about what you are doing it do not get behind the wheel. Thank you!
Windsor Regional Hotel Dieu Campus - I can't begin to explain how dedicated, compassionate and well trained the ER team and Paramedics were late last night when my son was brought in. I wish I would have had the foresight to get names to personally thank each and every one of you. From the Doctors, to Nurses, to Security and Maintenance personnel. We take for granted how privileged we are to have these medical warriors at our beckon call, who make mole hills out of mountains while setting aside their own needs to insure the comfort of others. You have became my son's most valued 'pit crew' ever and we thank you.
I would like to give these hard workers a shout out. I moved 2 houses over the weekend and hired 2Guys1Truck to help us move. I could NOT have done it without them. They were on time, polite, gentle with our stuff, quick and so focused on getting the job done right. Very professional. I had a few tricky pieces to move and fit thru small door ways, they took the time to take out doors if needed and put them back when done. On top of all of that, when we had issues getting the new keys on time on the closing date, they waited almost all day and were beyond understanding of such circumstances. A gesture that under so much chaos and pressure already was greatly appreciated. I could go on, but I just want to get the message out there that even though this is a new company, please don't hesitate to hire them. They were worth every penny and made the move a breeze. You can find them on kijiji and they do more than just moves.
Thank you Roberto and Kyle for making the move fun and stress free for us. Best of luck to you!!

I just want to say thanks to the person in front of me today at Tim Hortons on the corner of Walker and Wydanotte, you paid for my order and it made my day. I had just come from the bank after paying my taxes so you put a smile on my face.
Thanks again! :)
I am a mom and when I was first diagnosed with a mental illness (OCD) I searched around the city for some kind of peer support group free of charge but I have not been able to find anything. The only one I found is for new moms, but what about moms who had delayed post partum the one that happens after your child is nearly 2 or older? How many other moms would benefit from this or would love something like this? Maybe get together twice a week and meet somewhere safe where its a judge free confidential place? If a councelor or someone sees this and is on board to come and give your time to us moms so that we could sit and talk about the things we are going through and offer each other support, free of charge even if it was an hour to an hour and a half? I would love to start something up. We could even just connect through skype at a time maybe when the kids are in bed. Please feel free to email me,(momstogetherunite@hotmail.com) I think this would be so beneficial to us all moms just wanting support. If there is already something like this then feel free to direct me to that information. Thank you!

I don't do this very often but had something happen today that impressed me very much. I went into the Canadian Tire on Walker to exchange a couple of tools that had broken for warranty but didn't have the receipt for one of them. Having reserved myself to buying another one, I brought them both into the store and went to the customer service desk. Explained to the lady working that it was less than 3 years old (warranty on air tools) but I couldn't find the receipt for it. She said to go back to the tool isle and get the ones I wanted to replace and she would look it up in the system by part number. Was a busy day so I thanked her for her efforts and went back to the tool isle. When I came back, she was dealing with another customer so I patiently waited. After she finished with that one, she told the next one to wait and proceeded to finish with me. She had found the transaction and the date when I bought the tool and then did the warranty exchange on the both of them. Again which I thanked her and then left the store with my new tools. This is what customer service is all about. I did not get her name but instead of telling me there was nothing she could do, she went out of her way and searched for when I bought the tool, so I just want to say thank you because you did your job so that I can continue to do mine.
I have looked everywhere for my computer. I'm sure that the last place I had it was in my car on Wednesday night when I came to work in Leamington by the Sherk Complex area. To the person/ persons who took my computer out my car I don't know what your story is to make you do something like this but I would like to tell you my story. I know that it is my fault for not locking my car that night but I have just recently returned to work after my husband died very suddenly on March 22nd and his funeral was March 28th,2016. So I am a greiving widow. The computer bag that held my computer also had papers from the intensive care unit from Hotel dieu hospital, copies of my husbands obituary and some other papers. There were also copies of DVDS of our Vow Renewal that we had celebrated last October that was given to us as a gift, Stilll pictures of our Vow Renewal that a friend had taken and given us as a gift and the CD of the still pictures that funeral home had shown at my husbands funeral. There were also pictures stored on the computer and USB ports with various items on them as well. If I am wrong and my computer was taken in the Windsor or Harrow area please just make some kind of arrengements through a friend or something and at least please return the papers and and CD's, DVD's and other items.
I am asking you to please or anyone knowing any information to please do the right thing and return these items to me.
On Wednesday April 20, 2016 I received a phone call from my mom letting me know that my Dad had had a heart attack and that Chatham EMS was bringing him to Windsor to the cath lab. He had 2 stints put in and remained in Windsor Hospital for 1 night and was transferred back to Chatham's hospital where he remained there for 2 more nights before being discharged.
Today, I was talking to him and he wanted me to post something, to find a way to get it to all the EMS workers, the Fire Department workers, all the RNs and RPNs from Chatham and Windsor that took care of him. He wanted to send out a big thank you for everything that you all do and for all the help you all provided for him and our family. I only know the names of the nurses that took care of him in Windsor. Sue and Mary from the CCU. He told me that he had a wonderful conversation with one of the nurses from Chatham, but I cannot remember her name.
He cannot believe the amount of knowledge that is needed to do what you all do and he said to tell you that you guys do not make enough to do what it is you do!! Thank you from the bottom of his heart as well as my whole family. My dad is now at home and is feeling good. Thank you all again from my dad and my family!
