Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
Last week I brought my daughter to the clinic on Lauzon and Riverside after she slipped on ice at school. She was crying in pain holding her arm and I sat her down and checked in to clinic. The lady beside us went up after us and gave us her spot which was next because she felt bad for her. I cannot thank that woman enough because what she didn't know is that I had been at the hospital that morning with my husband for a minor surgery and got the call about my daughter on our way home so sitting in a clinic or ER with a poor kid in agony was the last thing I wanted to do knowing my poor husband was recovering at home alone. I also need to point out that all the staff at the clinic and xray were so wonderful along with the staff at WR Ouellette fracture clinic and the day surgery staff and volunteers as well.
I walk often at the Ford Test Track, and I have had the chance to talk to the maintenance employees who care for the park. They take a lot of pride in making it a safe and clean place for our community to enjoy. So imagine how they must feel when they show up to work and see this. They clean it, and it comes back again. It's so upsetting to know that there are people out there who are crying so much for attention that they feel the need to stain their own neighborhoods. Please let this be a reminder that we need to teach our children to care about their community, and to take pride in creating a positive environment for everyone to share.
I was involved in an accident on Dougall and Norfolk Sat morning. There was damage to the front tire area and could not drive the vehicle. The four ways were on and the car was in the right hand lane. Tow truck was called immediately. Estimated time of arrival was 6 minutes. It was pouring rain. A man in a black car pulled up behind the car, then beside the car and looked on the car. He then angrily pulled in the front of the vehicle in front of the car. He got out and approached the second vehicle involved and started yelling and swearing to move the car. No kind offer to assist, just yelling and swearing etc. At seniors just involved in an accident. His last scream was that he was "sending us a ticket"! And aggressively left. I was in dismay at this rude unkind younger male. I surely hope he was not a police officer because of his bad behavour. Could just imagine how he would treat people.
On Dec 15th we were at Caesars Windsor with very dear friends listening to the Carol Kerr band. As we were getting ready to leave a man walked up to us and asked if we wanted to see The Tenors who were performing that night.
His wife was sick and they were unable to attend the show. My husband and I absolutely love the Tenors and wanted to pay him for the tickets. He wouldn't let us, just said Have a Merry Christmas. What a kind, generous thing to do. We didn't get his name and wanted in some way to thank him for this incredible Christmas gift! So good to know there are wonderful people in our city!❤️
To the driver in the tiny white "sports" car at the Erie and Parent roundabout Jan 6th - LEARN HOW TO USE A ROUNDABOUT! As I pulled up (along Parent ave.) no one was waiting at any entrance and no one was in the roundabout, so I proceeded in. As I reached the halfway point towards Erie you suddenly appeared (on Erie) and attempted to drive right into the roundabout ignoring the YIELD sign in front of you. I guess maybe you were expecting me to STOP mid roundabout to let you in?!?!? That is not how a yield sign or a roundabout works. You are supposed to YIELD to the traffic that is already in the roundabout. When you saw that I did not stop you then BLARED your horn for the entire time that I passed you until I left the roundabout. I honked back, but I doubt that made you realize anything. To the residents of Windsor - PLEASE LEARN HOW TO READ ROAD SIGNS AND HOW TO USE A ROUNDABOUT!
I have seen people treat it like a 4 way stop, a stop sign and more! This is not a difficult concept like zipper merging (another thing Windsor drivers struggle with), it is easily learned if you simply pay attention.

We took My daughter to the walk-in clinic tonight since she's been running a fever and what not and we just wanted her looked at before everything was closed for the holidays. She is okay, just a bad cold at this point. But a gentleman in the waiting room offered up his spot, several names above us, so we wouldn't have to wait as long with our daughter 😭. We thanked him but declined since we knew she was stable and okay to wait for a little bit. But I was so touched by his kindness. No one likes waiting around at a clinic! And he was willing to wait longer just to make it easier for Her, and us. He said he has a little girl at home. thank you!!! Kindness is out there friends, let's keep it going!

To the kindhearted person who found $50.00 worth of restaurant gift certificates at Walmart, I cannot thank you enough. I had just purchased these gift certificates for a family member for Christmas and had tucked them into my coat as it was raining outside. I forgot all about them and went to Walmart to pick up a few things. After I got home I realized that I had lost them. I went to Walmart to see if by chance (a very small chance) someone had turned them in. I could beleive it, someone with a very big heart did. Thank you so much for your kidness and restoring my faith that there are really great people out there. Bless you!
