Yesterday morning I took my 2 year old and 3 month old to budimir library for story time. When we left, it was pouring! Between pushing the stroller and carrying my daughter, I couldn't manage my umberella too. I figured I'd make a run for it since my daughter had a rain coat on and my son was cozy and dry in his stroller. As we left, a gentleman was coming in with a big umberella. He proceeded to walk us to my car, holding his umberella over us as I buckled the kids into their car seats and put the stroller in the trunk. On such a dreary day, the kindness of this stranger was truly heart-warming. To the gentleman who helped me, thank you for putting a little light into our day!
My son is a struggling addict. He made the decision to get help. He contacted Brentwood and was told he would need to detox 3 to 5 days before entering the program. This could be done at home, ( not going to happen ) or at the detox centre. This is where our journey began. He called the detox centre several times, for several days being told to repeatedly to call back no beds. After 2 days of calling and still no results..I drove my son right to the door. He called once again and told them he was sitting outside their doors waiting to be admitted. He was then told to just sit on the bench outside and wait for someone to come get him as they were busy !! I waiting with him on that bench for 1 full hour before someone FINALLY came out only to tell him it would still be awhile and for him to just remain on the bench outside the centre. SHAME ON YOU !!!! This was a scared kid ..who made the decision on his own to get help. To leave an addict of ANY sorts sitting in a bench outside is just crazy to me ... My son is now finished detox and is starting his recovery at brentwood, I hope to hell one day he is strong, healthy, finishes school and takes your job. Shame on you !!!
Wanted to extend a quick thank you to the young lady at Hotel Dieu Grace on Hurom Church for giving me her parking ticket as she was leaving. You made my day a lot brighter. Thanks
Hey everyone. I am the store manager at the Aldo Outlet at windsor crossing outlet mall
A few days ago one of my associates found a costco reward coupon with a pretty high value on it in our store on the floor.
It had the costco customers name on it Lucas Gillen. if you are this person or know this person I would love to get the coupon back to them. Please I am asking you to verify the amount of the coupon and will want some sort of proof you are this person before I hand it over. I tried to search the person on fb but no luck so hoping someone sees this who knows him! Thanks everyone! And remember please SHARE!!
Hi Everyone,
I lost my wallet earlier tonight, in the Pillette and Wyandotte area near the McDonald's. I would really appreciate it if you could give me a call or text if you find it. My number is 519-567-2443.
Although I know that it wouldn't be your intention, I would be happy to provide a reward.
Thank you so much.
My girlfriend and I were packing up groceries on Sunday from Food Basics... we leave get home and unpack only to notice a "reusable" bag of groceries missing. She called the store and was told to come in and speak to the manager. They reviewed the video surveillance and caught the lady behind us stealing her bag of groceries.
You know who you are and you knew at the time of stealing the groceries that wasn't your bag! $40 of goods gone. Thankfully the store gave my friend all her missing groceries!
ok i rarely post "bad" spottings and i'm sure we are all sick of the bad traffic/ driver rants.
but this is an issue i see regularly... and progressively getting worse.
so while i stopped and sat patiently through an entire green light today at ouellette and tecumseh intersection (as did the lane that pulled up beside me and the cars behind us, etc), I watched in awe as an ambulance came down the hill, sirens on and lights flashing only to be forced to stop. and wait. and wait some more.
people, i'm not sure what they taught u in drivers ed.. but the bright lights, sirens and additional blaring of the "get the heck out of the way!" horn they have means (wait for it) MOVE OUT OF THE WAY!!! you all looked so dumbstruck like u had never encountered an ambulance before. one lady in a silver minivan (front of line of course) managed unsuccessfully to pull up two feet before she threw up her hands in bewilderment, not knowing what to do. and so, they all sat there until the light turned green (i'm talking they sat through the left lane turning light and everything, ambulance still blaring it's horn). the ambulance finally managed to slip into the left turning lane (after everyone else had already turned) and proceed through the intersection while everyone else was still trying to figure out what they should do, still stopped, their light now green.
im starting to think ambulances should be equipped with one of those snow plow scoops on the front for people who can't be bothered to move over. we held the intersection for you, the way was clear, what more did you need?
it's nice that we stop and wait and pull over for funeral processions.. i've always liked that about windsor.. but could we maybe not wait until the person needs a funeral and get out of the way while they can still be saved??
just a thought..
red light or not, if the intersection is holding for u and is clear, get out of their way! it could literally make all the difference in someone's life.
