Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
Please be alert with the nice weather. I had my inside door open and was letting the sun inside for a bit today when a young man about 19-20( longer brown hair, about 5ft 7in) came up on my front porch. Was surprised when I greeted him at the door. He quickly gave me a story about being badly beaten up and his phone stolen and asked for a ride home. He did not look the least beat up and appeared to have a phone in his hand. Told him I did not have a car around but would gladly call the police for him. He then decided that it was ok and ran down the street and got into a small bright yellow pick up that was waiting for him., Be watchful, don't leave doors unlocked, don't let strangers inside. Offer to call the police for them. Please don't take chances.
Woman's wallet/ wristlet found today, Tues. Feb 14th, at Willistead Park, just a few feet from the playground.

I live in the Riverside area and there is a car broken into on my street just about every single night. I've had valuables stolen in the past but have learned since not to leave anything in my car overnight. Before anyone says anything I know the easy answer is LOCK YOUR CAR, but MAYBE once a month I will forget, if my hands are full of groceries or I'm in a rush and of course that's the night I get broken into. The thief leaves the car a MESS and it's more of an inconvenience and a feeling of being violated than anything. Anyways, does anybody have any suggestions as to what to do about this annoying problem. Ive seen the thief before in action and called the police, they took way too long to show up and he was gone by the time they did, I've considered setting up some kind of booby trap in my car but I worry about the legalities of that if the thief gets hurt, and we all park too far away from the house to set up any kind of home camera system. Any thoughts would be great, i just know there's got to be something rather than "just dealing with it"
I just want to say thank you to the male in the black truck that bought me my coffee this morning in the Tim Hortons on Goyeau and Park.
Definitely made my day, so thank you for your kind actions, they don't go unnoticed.
A few weeks ago I stumbled upon The Swinging Soap Shop, it's located near Cartoon Kingdom on Provincial Rd. This place is amazing!!! The Owner is a very caring and sweet lady. All of their products are natural and tested before they hit the shelf. They have an amazing variety of soaps and the bath bombs are awesome. If you know someone that likes truffles but isn't into chocolate (or likes both) they make truffle bath bombs. From regular bars of soap to slices of cake soap, cup cake bath bombs with a cherry soap on top. I would highly recommend this place!!! I can usually only use unscented Aveeno. Thanks to The Swinging Soap Shop there are options for those of us with sensitive skin.
I was shopping at Zehrs in LaSalle on Monday Feb 13 between 6-6:30 and found a stack of money sitting in the change return at the scan your own machine. I turned it into the employee in charge at the time and she said she would make a note of it and took it. When I left I asked the couple who had cashed out ahead of me if it was theirs but they used debit. I really hope the owners get it back.
I wanted to thank a couple of people who made my day A LOT better today.
First, I want to thank the kind lady from the Downtown Windsor Tourism office. She not only showed me how to get to a certain building from Tourism office, but she also gave me a parking pass so that I could park in that lot until I got back. This was very much appreciated!!
Secondly, I would like to thank the person who bought a full day pass at another lot (Jackson Park Health Centre). I was given the ticket by a gentleman who said someone had given it to him and they had gotten it from someone else. Needless to say, I passed the ticket to another person on my way out.
It is so comforting to know that there are kind people all around us.
My girlfriend and I were at fit4less on Central Saturday February 11th. We left the gym around 6pm. She noticed she forgot her phone (iphone) either in the change room or the front lobby. When I called it ten minutes later it had already been shut off and went right to voicemail. We returned back to the gym around 6:20 and there was no signs of it anywhere. She is not from Windsor and uses her phone to communicate with her family. Please whoever took it, have it in your heart to bring it back to the gym. Heck I'd even give you something for bringing it back, based on how much it means. If anyone has any info they could share please do so!
