Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
This morning my family and I were having breakfast at the Adriatic. We have been regulars here since we discovered it a few years back. Often times it's very busy and sometimes there is a small wait. We waited but not long. We were seated and accommodated with a high chair for my 16 month old. We also had my 2.5 year old daughter with us. People smiled at my girls and complimented them. As we waited for our breakfast. Our youngest was getting Impatiant and started screaming. We tried calming her however we could but she wouldn't have it until her found was there. Everytime she let out a scream, this vile woman would stare me down. She mumbled under her breath and I heard another customer say" she's just a baby for god sakes.!" I could tell she was talking about me and my baby. Finally I heard her say "who takes a babe out for breakfast?!" I wanted to cry. I was angry. I work full time and I never go out. Enjoying breakfast out with my family is a big deal and a treat for us.
While we continued our breakfast in anger and frustration. Our waitress informed us that the lady sitting behind us having breakfast with her children paid for our entire breakfast.
She heard the vile woman speaking rudely about us . She made a bad start to my Sunday a great start. I wish we could have thanked her and hope I can reach out to her on here to say thank you so much. And thank you to the awesome waitstaff at the adriatic that made me feel that my
Hungry screaming child didn't phase them. I will continue to eat there!
You ladies have been spotted💜
As for the mean lady. May you find peace within yourself and others.
Two shout outs. First, to the wonderful woman working the night shift (Friday) at Windsor Residence for Young Men. A family member just moved in and included me on the 'call' list to check up on him at any time. I finished work really late and wanted to call to see how that family member was settling in. I had no idea this was happening, so I was kind of shocked. She stayed on the phone, very patiently, with me for 30 minutes and answered every question. She showed empathy, care and due diligence in what she does. She didn't just answer those questions because she had to, I could hear the compassion in her voice. I tried to apologize for the many questions but she wouldn't have it, and I mean that in the best way possible. She was a true gem. So, I thank you for being there for ME so I can be there for my family member. Thank you for helping me understand, and familiarize myself, with the facility you work for.
My second shout out. I went out looking for a single yellow rose. Just one. You see, a few years ago, my friend lost her mother. Yellow roses were her favourite. I never met this woman and I only became friends with this girl a few months ago. Yesterday was the anniversary of when she lost her mom. I went to a flower shop and they were closed. So, I went to another place. They had bouquets. I asked if they sold singles, they said no. I was about to purchase the bouquet and the woman who works at this establishment asked which one I wanted. I pointed at a rose and she gave it to me, not even knowing the reason. I explained after, of course. A co-worker was there the whole time and also commended her on her nice gesture. It meant so much to me and I almost cried right there in the store. So, thank you for that. I choose to not disclose where I was, as many people like to "chirp" and say the employee was in the wrong by giving something away. And before anyone asks why I just didn't buy the bouquet, I could have bought 10 bouquets or a single rose. The love behind either is the same. The meaning and friendship behind one or the other doesn't change.
So, again. To those two wonderful people I had the pleasure of encountering this weekend. Bless your hearts! Thank you! :)
Last night, April 1st around 8:15 p.m two males were going door to door 1300 block of Howard Ave asking to put filters in our pipes for safe drinking water. He asked who was in charge of my home and if my dog was friendly. I was extremely uncomfortable. They claimed to be an organization called Safe Water, they were wearing blue jackets. I wasn't sure if they were legitimate so I wanted to share.
I decided to post here, to mention an awesome waiter at Cora's on Walker Road, Michael. This guy makes you smile, pretty sure he could make anyone smile!!! He has that terrific personality, very happy, bubbly and a great sense of humor. I have had him as a waiter a few times, he remembered me because apparently I remind him of his God Mother. Which is apparently a good thing!!! Lmao It's always great to get such amazing service with smiles and laughter!!! I love it, I told him I couldn't leave a tip on the table, only through the debit cause all I had was a $5 bill and two free Tim Horton's donut tabs...Haahaa he said he loved donuts!!! So, of course I handed it over and left a tip on debit too!!! Thanks to people like Michael that make your day even brighter!!! Michael if you hear of this, you are a great kid!!! Your parents have done a wonderful job raising you, they should be proud!!! Ohhh, your God Mom should be proud of you too!!! Lol
Rolled off the back of my truck two and a half foot tall cardboard barrel with metal locking rim. It was full of summer clothes and was moving to my new home lost somewhere between Walmart on Dougall Road and Colchester Harrow area.
Now I go to the tim hortons on chandler and tecumseh pretty much everyday between work and home. Ill be the first to admit that the service can sometimes be a bit of a wait/ incorrect. And I am fully aware that this business is going through a rebuilding phase with their staff. I understand it has been very difficult for them. But I must commend them for trying their best with what they have to work with. There are so many new employees but I have to give this business props for hiring one of the best floor managers Ive seen working there. Everytime i go in she is busting her butt running around making sure the lines are moving faster and that customers are satisfied. Her name is Keyona and she is so kind and quick everytime i come in. Find more employees like her! Great job chandler! Cant wait to see whats in store for your future.
I lost my wallet today in the parking lot right next to Mr.Meats East Windsor. Please if anyone knows or found it, I would appreciate my ID back. Thank you in advance. If you call 519-944-8213 I can pick it up, no questions asked.
To the nice man in the Costco parking lot on Thursday March 30th.
You saw me struggling with my two young kids trying to get them in my van (one hungry, the other one hungrier!), while loading up my groceries as well, and you simply came over with a friendly smile, and asked if I was done with my cart and if you could take it in for me. I said yes and thank you so much, so you did. I know it seems like just a small, simple gesture, but it helped me out so much that day. It was a nice thing to do for a mama who was trying to wrangle her two year old and 4 month old into a van with all her groseries. It really put a smile on my face, and I passed it along by buying a strangers coffee in the Tim Hortins line. Your one simple gesture had a ripple effect I'm sure! So thank you stranger!
