Dedicated to the general sights, news and funny happenings in the wonderful city of Windsor
I haven't been here in Windsor very long, less than 6 months. Every one that I have met here....Sooooo friendly! After a particularly difficult long weekend (didn't turn out the way I thought it was going to) I was ready to...I don't know, but it wasn't good.
I do my laundry at the same place, usually every week. Now, I'm not going to mention her name (as I don't know if she'd want it 'out there') noticed I wasn't myself this past weekend. She promptly got on the phone with her boss, and then proceeded to give me a gift that I will NEVER FORGET. I want to also thank the owner, as I know he had a part in this. Thank you Thank you Thank you both! You have both made my week that much more brighter. And cleaner (lol).
Such a BIG heart for such a little woman!
Something so little, can mean so much... you have made me all that much more glad that I've moved here. I made the right choice.
SUPER NICE At SUPER CLEAN!!
Over the last week I saw 4 vehicles throw trash out their window.
Then Saturday afternoon I whitnessed a man his late 50's throw the garbage from his cart on to the ground in the Costco parking lot!! I think Costco does a great job, better than most places at providing trash bins at every cartcarrel and at the entrance. There was no reason to litter. The following day at the Belle River pier which also has an ample amount of trash bins. A teenage boy just threw his ice cream cup on the ground! We confronted him, he took off but his friends apologized for his actions, then put the cup in the trash for him.
What's going on people??
STOP LITTERING, dispose of your trash properly and let's keep Windsor/ Essex county beautiful.
Thank you so much to the 2 ladies at Howard Grill who were so kind and paid for our meal on Tuesday, May 16th in the early afternoon. My Mom and I were so surprised and felt so blessed by your generosity. We wish we could have thanked you in person for your thoughtfulness. We were so humbled by your gift. Thank you for being such a blessing to us. My Mom and I pray that God will bless you abundantly for the kindness and love that you had shown us.
Much Love and Appreciation,
The Mom and Daughter
A Dangerous Driver in a small black car passing a school bus at 2:30pm Tuesday May, 23rd. It's great that you signalled to pass the bus (sarcasm), but it was turning left onto Caruso. So you passed a school bus dangerously... speeding to go around the bus, beside a park and right by a "Autism Child" caution sign...Your impatience could have caused an accident!
You have been spotted for all the wrong reasons.
To the caring lady with the clean handkerchief & tissues that came to my aid in Winners on Walker earlier this afternoon, your kindness will be long remembered. When I saw the blood in his mouth, My instinct was to look for help at the cashier desk & you were there & gone in an instant so I couldn't thank you properly. Turns out it was a small cut to his lip that bled quite a bit. Your handkerchief came in handy to wrap the cold pack they gave me for him. My little guy Was right as rain as if nothing had happened within 5 minutes of your kind gesture. Thank you for being so willing to help a total stranger. I will pay it forward 💛
I want to give a shout out to Andrea, the nurse that was at Met Campus in ICU Sunday night. You made what was a bad and very sad situation peaceful and relaxed. We had a few good laughs together and I thank you for your professionalism and just being there for myself, my daughter Lexy and my brother in law Chuck. Also, I want to thank Matt, the nurse that was in ICU yesterday (Monday) during the day and helping us through a difficult time. You both showed great work ethics and thank you for being there!! Great work!! Thanks again, Vickie
As an ex citizen of Windsor that now lives in Kitchener, I came to visit Windsor for the 50th Anniversary of St. Clair College. I wanted to spot Justine for going above the call of duty after I was having a dispute with my $99.99 hotel rate I booked online and the residence rate was $69.95. She called Booking.com to see if they would fix the rate and they wouldn't. So she booked a room for me for the $69.95 rate and I was able to cancel my reservation with Booking.com and was able to have not only an amazing time while visiting Windsor but also I was able to meet some amazing people in the city.
Also, to the people that raised the flag for the 125th Birthday of the City of Windsor, all of the organizers and to all the people I met during the walk, thank you for being so kind to me especially Karen and Innocent. Also, to all the organizers, staff, Firefighters, and Police Officers that were there, you were all so kind to me and I appreciate it. Also, to officer Wren Dorsant, the new diversity officer of the city, it was such a pleasure meeting you and thank you for taking a picture with me. It was very much appreciated. Furthermore, to the police officer driving vehicle P6102 on Saturday morning around 9 a.m., I witnessed you had an amazing interaction with a young boy with his mother and you turned on the lights and explained how police car sirens are noisy. You also gave him a high five as well before you drove on your regular patrol. I made sure to tell the other Auxiliary officers how amazing your interaction has been with all citizens of the City of Windsor. Thank you for respecting all people including our diverse population.
To the Windsor Public Library staff, thank you for allowing me to cut a Captain America character out of a comic book so I was able to make a button from it. I love buttons so much! :).
To all the Transit Windsor employees who were really kind to me after the machines didn't accept my valid Day Passes, thank you for allowing me to just show my Day Pass and allow me to board without delaying other customers. Also, your punctuality has improved dramatically and also your customer service and attitudes have improved dramatically too. Also, to the 5 Dominion Transit Operator that gave a courtesy stop on a Friday afternoon to a guy with crutches right at his home so he didn't have to walk from a far bus stop, you have been spotted too. Also, thank you to all the bus drivers that took the time to chat with me too as I returned to Windsor for a visit.
To the kind server on Friday night at Artist Cafe when I went out with my friend for dinner and the two ladies sitting at the table beside me for chatting with us, we really appreciate it and the service was amazing at Ceasars Windsor.
To the staff who hosted the 50th Anniversary event at the SCCA and the Windsor Symphony Orchestra, you all did an amazing job and keep up the amazing work. To Diane, Laiman, Roger, Veronique, Justin, and Miranda, you were all awesome as well. Keep up the amazing work!
To the people that organized Khalsa day at the riverfront, the event was so amazing and thank you for the non-alcoholic beverages you were giving to random citizens passing by. This was really amazing and shows the true character and spirit of the City of Windsor and all of its citizens regards of who they are or where they come from.
To anyone else I may have missed and I interacted with, thank you for all being so awesome and kind! I had a blast during my weekend in the City of Windsor.
I have never felt more Canadian until I came to the City of Windsor so thank you all for your amazing work! :). Also I am proud to be Canadian as I am born in Canada!
From the guy that loves Windsor!
P,S. I apologize to the people lining up to take the Greyhound home, I apologize for cutting in line as I wasn't sure whether the other group was lining up for a different bus in the same parking lot on the left side of the lot and there was only one bus on the right side of the lot which I asked the lady at the Transit Terminal. My sincere apologizes on that.
To the girls that served me and my son at Tim Hortons on lauzon road near McHugh. Im here on a daily basis, multiple times a day too and have always got great service.
Thank you for the generous offer when my son realized he didn't have enough his orange juice and donut... you guys decided and paid for his donut which made him very happy, especially with the condition he is in now.
Thank you girls very much.
